Just a little quick drabble about, Onion Knight, Lightning and Terra.

"This is it, are you ready, Onion?" Lightning asked the boy.
"Yeah, let's do it," was his absent answer.
Both of them, woman and child, were walking cautiously on Kefka's Tower , when suddenly a twisted laugh echoed through the halls. Lightning took out her Blazefire Saber, pointing it 'at Chaos' minion's face
"Enough with the games, Kefka. Where have you hidden Terra?"
"You wanna know? Do you? I'm not telling - ugh!" Kefka's taunts were silenced by Lightning's bullets. "Grrrr, so you want sweet little Terra back? Very well, TERRA, DESTROY YOUR DEAR FRIENDS!" shouted Kefka, before disappearing, and leaving them with their old friend. She welcomed them with some holy projectiles and tears in her absent eyes.
"Onion, retreat!" screamed Lightning as she pushed the kid out of harm's way, receiving Terra's projectiles fully, the magic's impact knocking them over the edge, and down to the lower levels.
"Light, are you okay? Why did you do that?" asked the Onion Knight as he edged near her.
"You are still too young, you shouldn't have to fight," was her only response to the kid.
"I'm one of the warriors of Cosmos as well, and I vowed I'd protect you two, so I won't let either of you be killed in front of me," said the little Knight with determination in his bright green eyes, causing Lightning to smile at him.
"You know? You remind me of another kid, back home," she said, and then she punched the boy unconscious, so she could continue fighting the enslaved girl without interruptions. She made her way to the upper levels, meeting Terra half way there.
"Terra, snap out of it! It's me, Lightning!" she tried to free the girl out of the mind control, but to no avail. "Alright then, you leave me no other choice!"
Lightning managed to dodge the avalanche of attacks directed at her and got close to the girl, punching her against a wall. But Terra got up, and her Trance had been activated. She cast a Meltdown spell that Lightning barely managed to avoid, and both women continued to battle. No matter how hard Lightning fought, the trance mode put Terra on the winning side.
Lightning fell to her knees in front of the still transformed girl, too weak to continue the fight. Terra readied a fully-charged Meltdown to finish her off while large tears ran down her face, and Lightning closed her eyes and prepared to meet her end. She heard the attack impact on someone, but not on her. She realized too late, as she heard the death cry of the Onion Knight.
"No, Onion, you idiot, why did you do that?" She embraced the wounded body of the boy, tears falling without control.
"I told you, didn't I? I vowed to protect you two," he said with a weak smile, blood splattered through his hair and on his body, his helmet discarded on the floor.
"No, stay with me Onion," Lightning pleaded to the boy.
"I'm sorry Light, I wanted to stay with you for more time…"
The boy had drawn his last breath. Lightning ignored the other girl, who just stood there. As if suddenly realizing just what she had done, she flew away while silently crying, leaving the World's Enemy with the corpse of the little boy.
