As my father's always fond of saying, just like every other Pacella man in my family, 'Faith without works is dead,' a proverb that goes back over a hundred generations I'd bet. Dad'd probably roll over in his grave right now if he knew what I was doing.
Or he'd approve heartily. The heart was always important to him.
And the work I'm doing now, right this minute, is to support the faith I have in Diana Skouris. Not to win her heart, but to give her my support, to do what I can to help her in her hour of need. Not for reasons of attraction, though that's there; not for hope she'll pay me back, though I know she'd help me if I needed it. I'm doing this because I'm uniquely placed to both want to help and am able to help.
It helps that I spent a lot of time scribbling and writing with my nephew while my sister went to school to be a laywer; I'm using his handwriting to fill out this journal whose cover lyingly says is Maia's.
