Sirius found her reclining in front of the fire in the Slytherin common room. The huge armchair in which she sat dwarfed her miniature frame. It was well after midnight. Unable to sleep, Sirius had gone to the one person he knew would still be awake. Bella quite rarely slept, she said it was because of the nightmares.
"You're not supposed to be in here" she said as soon as he entered. Sirius paused, leaning against a table "But then I've never paid much attention to the rules have I" he laughed and started walking slowly towards her chair. He sat himself down in the identical armchair on the other side of the fireplace and poured himself a cup of coffee out of the pot Bella had resting beside her.
Drinking it contemplatively he nodded towards her left hand "I see old Roddy finally popped the question. Your parents have settled the terms then?" She sighed and looked in the same direction. "Yes" she said in a low dark tone and resumed gazing into the fire. "Little miss perfect pure blood is having second thoughts about her perfect pure blood marriage. How droll." Bella turned and gave him a look that clearly said bugger off. This only served to goad Sirius into continuing "Perhaps she'd prefer something a little more exotic in the way of a husband. I hear werewolves are quite skilled lovers, if a tad rough. How about it, Bella dearest?" Bella flopped her head back in her chair, half turned to look at her cousin "Are you volunteering poor little Mooney? I don't think he'd relish the idea any more than I. What about you? I haven't heard anything about your outrageous love life of late. Have you exhausted the supply of eligible females at Hogwarts?"
Sirius chuckled lightly and put on his most debonair smile. "All but one. It doesn't seem I'll be getting anywhere with her so I've put it on the back burner for now" Bella nodded slightly and said "James might be a bit upset with you if you didn't. You could always start on the gentlemen now that you've had all the ladies. It might suit your fancy." He looked confused for a moment and then rolled his eyes. "Sadly for Rosier I'm not inclined in that direction." Bella laughed "It is quite sad, the way he drools whenever you enter a room. Too bad, you would make an adorable couple." Her high pitched laugh was starting to irritate him and Sirius was becoming increasingly sure that coffee wasn't the only thing she'd had to drink.
Sighing, he got up and ruffled Bella's hair, receiving a vicious scowl for his efforts. "Goodnight Bella" Sirius walked quietly out of the room, at the door he could have sworn he heard a soft slurred "night Siri." but he was never quite sure.
