The rain tapped constantly against the window.
Mamoru shifted in the covers, twisting them around his body as he did so, now laid on his back, one hand over his chest and the other next to his pillow. Getting comfortable in the new position he relaxed once more, although not without waking up slightly from the drops on the window.
His keen sense of hearing picked up on every last drop, waking him up more with every passing moment. He was about to get up and get some coffee when something brushed up against his side, and lapsed against his bare chest. Fingers moved slightly and a deep breath was heard next to him.
Haruka...
She must have crawled into bed with him last night, woken up by the storm. Forgetting about the coffee he turned towards the middle of the bed and brought his hand up to his chest, making contact with her hand and fingers; small and slender as ever. He moved his hand up her arm to her shoulder which was covered in fabric, she was wearing a t-shirt like she usually did when she slept. He paused his hand there and tried to picture her lying there next to him.
Peaceful and quiet, those were the perfect words to describe the few minutes since he had woken up. Quite different from their normal every day life, it was a nice change of pace.
After a moment he took his hand back and turned onto his back once more and brought his arm up over his eyes, taking a deep breath. The sleeping body next to him rustled and inched closer to him and nested against his torso. His want for coffee faded quickly, he didn't want to leave the moment. She was sleeping soundly, and that was more than enough to sooth his mind for the time being. He let the tapping of the rain against the window lull him back to sleep once more.
That may be all I need
In darkness she is all I see
Come and rest your bones with me
Driving slow on Sunday morning
And I never want to leave
