Sky blue eyes darted nervously back and forth underneath the guise of a black cloth hood as a lanky teenager made his way along the sidewalk keeping his he down and only glancing up on occasion to make sure he didn't stray from his destination. The hushed coughs and annoyed mutterings tickled at the back of the young man's neck taunting his ears, were the talking about him?! Did someone recognize the bedraggled, half-starved youth with the soot skin and the bags under his eyes? Roy couldn't see how, not that he had looked in a mirror, he had however caught a glimpse of himself in a puddle.

What he had seen staring back at him made him face reality, despite all the hardships he had faced, despite how fast he could run, how well he could climb, and how far he could leap, this was not something he could escape physically. Hunger was like a parasite eating him alive from the inside out, and his damn metabolism wasn't helping matters. He felt empty like a husk, his stomach a bottomless pit that ached for any sort of sustenance.

The sudden sound of quickening steps set off alarms in his mind, was someone following him? He felt his throat begin to tighten with internal panic and gave a soft grunt as someone shouldered past him. He glanced up glaring at the individual who had caused him to stumble sideways kept walking right on bye, never once hinting any sense of remorse.

Roy's eyes shifted slightly to the left he saw a large black individual and the man looked at him, the dark brown browns of the other man rose in surprise and then narrowed in recognition. "Roy fucking Harper, oh you're in for it now." He said his lips taking on a sinister grin as he began to walk briskly towards the young man.

Roy eyes widened with pain, he felt his heart lurch and his nostrils flare as his survival response kicked in. "Run!" it screamed at him. "He's alone, big, and slow." The brunette darted into a nearby alleyway and began to leap up the fir escape he didn't have the time to take the stairs. rung by rung he leaped until he scrambled up a short wall the only distance between him and a rooftop. The young man didn't dare look down as he hoisted his chest and squirmed up to his waist half his body mass had reached safety but as he hears the familiar click of a hammer being cocked he pushed on the sharp corner of the rooftop with his knees.

Fear gripping him as he scrambled a rolled just a couple of inches away, his chest heaving as a gunshot grazed where he had just been. He took a moment to visualize what could have been his last seconds of life, a bullet ripping into his knees, the reflex to grab the tender area overriding his grip on the wall, the dreadful sensation of falling helplessly through the air and his frail body slamming into the concrete, his mouth overflowing with blood as bones ruptured organs and caused him to bleed internally.

Roy pushed the nightmarish vision out of his mind and scrambled to his feet, putting distance between him and his pursuer. He could hear the man panting as he scrambled up the metallic stairs flight by flight. Roy's heart soared, pumping every bit of blood through him as fast as possible. The young man's shoes barely made a sound as they lifted the moment they were placed down and he judged the distance of the next rooftop as he approached the end he took one final stride and leaped for all he worth body instinctively beginning to flip through the air rolling to spread out the shock of the impact as his body met the thin gravel layer and he pushed himself up with his arms, limbs shaking chest heaving as he gasped for air.

He saw the man glancing round and he quickly crawled behind a large ventilation system the loud hum of the machine masking his frantic breathing. He was safe...for now.
