Raava was excited to hear the news. As the Father's primary attendant, she would have a front row seat to everything that was going on. Everytime the Father created something new she would stand in awe - creatures that she couldn't even comprehend would appear before her very eyes simply at his word. From a small supply of base "animals" came all kinds of fantastic combinations - platypus bears, elephant rhinos, sponge stars. She still couldn't understand why the Father had clothed them in that restricting mass he called "flesh". She was free to float anywhere she pleased, but these animals were stuck on the ground. But he was the Father, and the Father's ways were always best.
She made her way in the great spirit procession as thousands of lesser spirits gazed upon her beauty. Raava, in all her "lightness", was a symbol of everything pure and good in the world the Father had created. And being one of the largest spirits, she was free to shine her light over massive spaces in this world. Two turtle spirits playfully fought with one another over who would be her lucky husband. Raava giggled inside. No man could hold her down.
She made her way to the front of the procession where the Father sat with a warm smile on his face. "I'm so glad you could all attend.", he proclaimed. "It is time to witness the pinnacle of my creation. All other creation was made to serve me and them under me. Let the humans appear."
The dirt ground beneath them started to liquify and form into bizarre new shapes. What kind of "bodies" were these? Some looked strong and virile, while others more delicate and demure. They sort of had the appearance of the Mother of Faces, but each only contained one. They weren't particularly attractive; they certainly weren't as diverse as the many kinds of spirits and animals the Father had created. Raava did not understand. What did the Father see in these "humans" that made them special and worth serving? She remembered something she had heard him say a long time ago - "In weakness there is great strength." He was the Father. He always knew best. But a feeling she had never experienced before came upon her? Could the Father be...wrong this time? Could he have made a...mistake?
To be continued...
