It was the night before Jackson, Abby, Melissa and Eric were going to search the west point of the island. Jackson gathering food to take with them, when he heard crying and walked into the tent. He saw Lex crying in his sleeping bag.
"Hey buddy. What is the matter?" Jackson asked bending down to his level.
"I don't want you guys to leave," Lex said crying.
"Hey it is going to be alright," Jackson, said reassuring. Jackson felt bad about leaving him. He had gotten close with him but he knew that he had to.
"How do you know that," Lex said still upset.
Jackson picked up his guitar and began to sing.
"Come stop crying you will be all right. Just take my hand hold it tight," Jackson sang. Jackson taking Lex's hand and holding it.
"I will protect you from all around you Don't you cry," Jackson sang looking at Abby and Eric who where outside of the tent. Abby just roll her eyes. Eric just looked at the floor.
"For some small you seem so strong, my arms keep you safe and warm this bond between us can't be broken, I will be here don't you cry. Jackson said ticking Lex.

Now and forever more. You'll be in my heart. No matter what they say, you'll be here in my heart, always," Jackson sang. Lex had stop crying to listen to hear Jackson sing.
"Why can't they understand the way we feel? They just don't trust what they can't explain. I know we're different but deep inside us. We're not that different at all," Jackson sang. Jackson was thinking back to the day he built the sign for him on his birthday.

By the song ended, there was not a dry eye on the island. Dailey and Taylor were in the plane crying. Nathan was staring in the fire. Melissa was secretly packing and crying. Eric was packing his bag angrily. Even Abby was in her sleeping bag outside the plane crying. Jackson looked over at Lex he was asleep. Jackson was really going to miss Lex and Lex was going to miss him.
