He was on a train headed for some town in the south that Ed had yelled at him until he agreed to go to. Risenburg, or Resenbul or something. But something was bothering him.

He knew today was special. He just didn't know why.

He considered it. Not a holiday, not a weird Xingese animal honouring meditation day or Ling would have told him, but maybe an anniversary of something?

It could be nothing, but then why did he feel like it was so important that he remembered it? There was no anniversary that involved being kicked in the face that he was aware of, so he didn't know what today was about.

He had an idea. Maybe something from when he couldn't remember. It could be Lust's birthday, or what would have been if she wasn't dead. He doubted it though. Birthdays fell under what the bastard that called himself his Father called "foolish human concepts". He wouldn't have known the dates of any of his older sibling's creations.

He kept going on that route. What humans had been important enough to him that he would have known their birthday? What humans would have cared if he had forgottten? More specifically, what human woman fufilled both of the two conditions?

He remembered a conversation.

"Hey doll. Could you-"

"No."

"I didn't finish my-"

"You didn't need to. The answer to anything you could ask me today that begins with could you is no."

" 'Kay, three things. First, stop interrupting me. Second, why only today?"

"Because today is mine. You understand that term, right? You use it alot."

"Fine."

"Now what's your third point?"

"If everything I ask you that starts in could you gets a no, then could you not get me some coffee?"

"N- I mean, um, yes, uh... I mean... I hate you."

*liquid pouring*

"Why is today your's?"

"WHAT! YOU FORGOT?! YOU DICKHEAD!"

"What did I forget?"

"It's my fucking birthday!"

"And you told me this when?"

"I repeat my previous point."

"The dickhead one or the one about you hating me?"

"Both."

It was her birthday. Of course. That was why he had thought about a dead woman.

He rested his head on the window and started to cry.
