I laid in bed, my tentacles no longer tied up in a knot. I have not heard from dad in a while… I wonder what he's up to. as I turned my head to my bedside table, noticing a picture of me with my human dad that we took before he had to fly off to college. Ever since there was a whole race of humans out there. There were some that were jerks, but dad… was special. "Dad!" I heard a little female voice come from the dining room interrupting my thoughts. Oh, before I forget, I'm Jason, or as some inklings like to call me. David the E-liter user. I'm a sniper at heart, but I'm more leaning teamwork than a lone wolf. and the little tyke that called me? That's my little daughter Amy, My wife is at work. Working with my now crazy fun cousin in law. Anyway, I went downstairs to see a little inkling who had pink tentacles but had my wife's enchanting golden eyes.
"What is it, Am-woah!" As I saw bruises on her forehead, some of them look pretty bad. "What happened?!" as I rushed to grab the ice pack in the freezer to help her.
"S-some meanie hit me…" was I all got back from a choked up Amy. I laid her on the sofa and gently applied the pressure on her forehead. Hoping the ice will at least numb the pain.
"Tell me more what happened sweetie."
"T-the meanie called me names. Said I was ugly, said I was a spoiled child… when I tried to talk back, h-he… p-punched me.."
Poor girl… If this was her mother in my position, she would've been all over Nathan's ass by now… as I felt some resistance to the ice pack. I lifted it off Amy's head. "Sweetie, you did the best that you could do. Daddy's so proud of you, but let's try something else instead of talking to that meanie. Why don't we… tell an adult?"
"But.. he always wins... In those... Talks…" poor girl…. I know my dad would be sad and try to cheer you up...
"How about… we ignore him?"
"I can't, dad! He's too annoying!"
"Tell you what. We learn how to stand up to him. It's something your Grandpa told me to do." Before rising to my feet, seeing her confused face. Before dramatically throwing my arm out, pointing my finger at the wall "OBJECTION!" That was what it took to make her cheer and try it. Although her objection was a bit cuter. I stroked her soft head. "That's the spirit." Let's keep trying that."
She tried it a few more times. Gosh, her objections are amazing. Each one getting more and more powerful. Before I heard Amy yawn. Seeing the clock says it's her bedtime.
"Alright young lady, time for-" before I felt a full on hug coming from my daughter. Oh, Amy… just like your aunt Callie… "remember, I always am, and always will be proud of you." before pecking her forehead. Opening my arms so Amy can go to bed. I watched her rush back with a small smile creeping up my face. I got a wonderful family, and I would not trade them for the world…. Speaking of which… as I felt my phone buzz. Right on cue. As I looked at the text photo of who it came from. I'm coming, Bianca…
