I was watching Hannibal, after my friend got me addicted to it, and Will went to a crime scene and took off his glasses but had them on in the next shot and I was pretty much stabbed by the terrifying creature know as a plot bunny. Thank you, I hope you like this odd thing that comes from the place known as my head. And I would rather have Hannibal munch on my liver before I say this but, I don't own Hannibal. Please enjoy!

He never liked people's eyes. Too much or too little going on up there. Too distracting.

His own eyes distracted him.

That's why he had them. His precious glasses. Separating the rest of the world from him. Like a TV screen to look into and then shut off. His own little world.

And then came the blood. The bodies. The scenes.

Then the rewrite. Then the vanish. Till only gold remained. And then his isolated world comes apart.

Separating himself from his glasses and then he knows.

He knows their mind, their sadness, their inexplicit joy at the bite of death snarling at their victims. Then he becomes them. He becomes the mangled flesh's murderer.

He doesn't need them of course. His vision is perfect. Perhaps twisted from the world but, his vision is clear.

He doesn't take them off in public. Contacts help him slightly but not like his glasses. They remove him a little bit. As long as there's something covering his eyes. No one can look inside him and see him. The monsters snapping at his heels like Winston does when he plays fetch.

Too many monsters.

He should know. He can see them. When he takes off his glasses, they become clear. All the hunters they chase, all the evil they see. The justice in it.

He likes the ones without eyes. But only slightly more than the ones with them.

The sockets don't judge him as harshly as he becomes their killer.

He allows him to see his eyes though. Despite lecturing him on why he hates eye contact the first time they met, he takes them off. He doesn't feel as queer without his precious glass in Hannibal's presence. The man eases him. Makes him feel safe. But then he is plunged back into the world.

And then his glasses are back. Blocking him from the world. Leaving him in peace.
