Sam and Dean were on a hunt in Philadelphia. This hunt was a small vampire nest. It took them about a week to wrap it up. The day they did finish. was Christmas Eve.
Now, the Winchesters hadn't celebrated Christmas in a very, very long time, but Dean wanted to surprise Sam. While he was interviewing some witnesses and families of victims, Dean had gone out and bought a large pie, and a present for Sammy. He didn't expect he'd get anything in return, but he still wanted to get his younger brother something.
When they returned to the motel, Dean had gone straight to the kitchen and pulled out the pie and present. He went back to the main area and sat the pie down, keeping the present behind his back.
"Merry Christmas, Sammy!" he said, a stupid grin covering his face.
Sam gave him b*** face #6. "Dean. I swear if this pie has anything besides the normal ingredients, I will crash the Impala." he threatened.
"Whoa Sammy, that's a bit far." Dean said, offended. "Besides...it's not like I put blue dye in it! It's just a normal, processed, store bought pie. No catches."
Sam looked at him looking for a hint of a lie. "Alright." he said after a breif hesistation.
"Great. I also got you this!" he said setting the gift on the table next to the pie.
"Dean! I didn't get you anything! I thought we weren't celebrating Christmas!" Sam complained.
"That was the point!" Dean said smugly. "I don't need a gift from you, you're my little brother." he smiled. "Go on. Open it!" he said.
Sam hesistated, then slowly started to tear of the wrapping paper. Inside was a large book full of Greek, Roman, Chinese, and Japanese Mythology. Dean had actually gone to a book store for that book, and hoped he wouldn't have to ever enter a book store again.
"Dean..." Sam sighed. "I can't take this. I'd feel bad if I did and I did get you something."
"Oh come on, Sammy. It's Christmas! You don't have to get me anything as long as you're family. Besides I lost the receipt." he chuckled. Actually. He knew this would happen. He burned the receipt.
"Dean, you should've told me we were doing something."
"Shut up Samantha." he said and went to grab beers and forks for them.
He returned and handed one of each to Sam and kept the other two for himself.
"Merry Christmas, Sammy."
"Merry Christmas, Dean."
