A/N: This fanfic is pretty much set to Tim McGraw by Taylor Swift. It goes back in forth between present and past, it's pretty easy to follow, but if you have any questions just let me know, and I'll try and answer it.

My name's Brooke Penelope Davis. I live in Los Angeles California. I use to live in Tree Hill North Carolina, but then some stuff went down between my mom and dad, and they wanted me to move to LA so I could be there with them. I left everything back in Tree Hill, my friends that were considered family, and my first love. I remember it all like it was yesterday:

1 Year Earlier:

"You know what? The way your green eyes shine put these Georgia stars to shame tonight." Lucas said laying with Brooke on his chest in the grass.

"That's a lie." She said smiling.

Present Time:

He was just a boy in a Chevy truck, that had a tendency of getting stuck on back roads at night. And I was right there beside him all summer long….

1 Year Earlier:

Lucas and Brooke are dancing to Don't Take The Girl by Tim McGraw.

"I love this song." Brooke said looking into Lucas's eyes.

"I know. When we met you told me it was your favorite song."

"It is." Brooke said smiling. "I can't believe you remembered that."

"How could I not remember that?" Lucas said looking up at the moon. "You know it's like the perfect spotlight on us."

Brooke looks up "Yes it is."

"I love you Brooke Davis."

Brooke looks up at Lucas "I love you too Lucas Scott."

"I think we've danced to this song like a billon times now Brooke." Lucas says looking at her.

"I know. I just……" Brooke says smiling.

"You look very beautiful in this black dress." Lucas says playing with a strap on her shoulder.

"Thank you." Brooke says, then she yawns. "What time is it?"

Lucas looks down at his watch "Three forty-two am."

Present Time:

…and then we woke up and found out that summer had gone. The hardest thing I've ever had to do was tell Lucas Scott that I was leaving and we wouldn't see each other anymore.

9 Months Earlier:

Brooke knocks on Lucas' door. Lucas answers.

"Hey." Brooke says with tears.

"Brooke. What's wrong?" Lucas asks concerns.

Brooke sniffles "My mom and dad say I have to go."

"Go where?" Lucas ask.

"They want me to move to LA." Brooke says breaking down crying. Lucas grabs her in a hug.

Present Time:

September saw a month of tears and thanking God that you weren't hear to see me like that. But in a box beneath my bed is a letter that you never read from a year ago. It's hard not to find it all a little bittersweet and looking back on all of that it's nice to believe that we love each other still.

Now I'm back for the first time since then I'm standing on your street and there's a letter left on your doorstep and the first thing that you'll read… is when you think Tim McGraw I hope you think my favorite song the one we danced to all night long the moon like a spot like on the lake. And when you think happiness I hope you think that little black dress think of my head on your chest and my old faded blue jeans when you think Tim McGraw I hope you think of me.

I will always love Lucas Scott, and he will always mean the world to me. I love you.
