It was dark in the Slytherin common, the only light coming in from the fire that seemed almost out of place in the otherwise cold stone room. Some would consider this common room more of a prison than a place for rest, but not those who resided in it. The girl looked strangely at place laying on her side, hand on hip in front of the raging fire. The flames danced in her eyes and she smirked tilting her head upwards to look at the other girl.
"I caught the mudblood, Granger, today crying in a corner" she sneered rolling onto her back so she could look up at her dorm mate with a grin. Daphne raised an eyebrow looking down at Pansy.
"And?"
"Seems, she's devastated about that slag Brown sucking face with Weasley. He is obviously blind, even we noticed her fawning over him" Pansy snickered as she sat up running delicate manicured nails through her hair.
Daphne laughed lightly, "I'm still trying to comprehend why Granger hasn't cursed Brown yet, it's not as if she doesn't know how."
The other girl nodded. "Remember that time we cursed Millicent? She just couldn't stop could she? Gods, she ruined my favourite skirt trying to squeeze her fat arse into it."
"And that top... And I still can't believe she kept trying to sleep in our beds." Daphne shuddered before standing up. "Ew. I feel dirty, lets talk about something better" She offered her hand to her friend pulling her up.
Pansy stood hair falling in her eyes for a moment while looking up at the taller girl, "Draco seems distant, I suppose it's got to do with, you know." She bit her lip, even here they weren't supposed to talk about that, it was dangerous in case of spies, in case of traitors and of course, Dumbledore.
"Of course it is! He shouldn't have to do that, not yet. It's not right." Daphne sighed and hugged the other, knowing how close Pansy and Draco were. Almost like siblings.
Pansy bit back tears and hugged her friend, "what if he gets caught?"
"He won't, don't worry darling" Daphne hugged the girl and sighed, Draco had better not get caught, if this was how Pansy was just thinking about it she did not wish to think about how the girl would react if Draco was caught, or worse, failed.
Pansy nodded slowly and looked up at the other. She paused before kissing the other along the jawline lightly. It wasn't an uncommon scene these days, the girls had grown close over the years and while yes, outwardly Pansy dated Draco, it was more for show than anything. Public events that helped their status. The same went outside of the school, both girls would have been betrothed by now, however with the war coming and allegiances unknown, neither girl was subject to an arranged marriage. This of course was perfect for them.
Daphne leant down a little and kissed Pansy's lips lightly hands moving to her waist. Their mouths moved together as if whispering secrets, secrets that are only heard in silence.
A cough from across the room caused them to jump apart, not because they were worried about being caught, no they were just startled. Hearts racing both from the fright and kiss, they looked through the slightly darkened room.
"Aw, and we were enjoying the show..." Blaise smiled leaning against Draco.
"Jerks." Pansy said tossing a pillow from on of the soft couches at the males while Daphne laughed. The four stood still for a while in silence as they watched each other finally, Blaise grinned.
"Come on Drake lets leave the ladies alone and have our own party" He winked before dragging Draco down to their dormitory. It wasn't long until Daphne did the same to Pansy.
