POV- Dean

Background- after the fall, after they become cannon, at an amusement park

"I- I'm not sure this is a good idea, Dean."

"Ah, come on Cas. Don't be an assbutt."

"I don't understand Dean, you laugh when I say assbutt. Why am I an assbutt Dean?"

"Shut up and come on." I take his hand and lead him through the mess of lines up to the ride. We get in the back of the line and I shake out that god-forsaken trench coat I'll never let him know I love. Pieces of caramel corn, peanut shells, and cotton candy fall to the ground. I bought him all the classic fair food and a beer. I wanted him to do his first time at an amusement park right.

We get onto the ride the next cycle, and I'm ready as hell. "This ones the best, Cas," I assure him, but he doesn't look excited. I strap him in next to me and squeeze his hand. He squeezes back.

Up and up and up. Higher and higher over the entire park. The slow cranking of the ride sounds a little off- it's old machinery. I could fix it. For a quick buck I'd know just how to fix this. We get to the top and the cranking stops. Cas has a death grip on my hand and I know he'll love this. The adrenaline pumping through my veins is familiar, and the lack of danger is refreshing. And then the ride drops- free fall- and I scream. And Cas screams. Just for a second, he screams.

And then it's done. I laugh as the restraints pop up and I turn to Cas. He's still sitting down.

"Come on! Wasn't that great?"

"Why Dean?" He whispers. Something's wrong. I take a knee right in front of him- his face is down and he's not looking at me. "Hey- Cas? Cas. What is it?" He looks up. His face is wet with tears and he stares at me.

"I was falling, Dean. I-I can't. It was...I already fell," he whispers, choking back more tears.

"Hey, buddy. Cas. Hey. Come here." I grab his shoulders and pull his wet face into my chest. We kneel there, right in front of the ride, as a line grows. And I let Cas cry. I can fix this.
