It had gone too far. And that's all Patricia had to say for herself. As she sat at the police station, she felt helpless as a police officer stood over her. It hurt her to see Mr. Sweet, her boyfriend's Dad, standing three feet away with a shameful look that said it all. Patricia wanted to bury her head in her hands, and she would have, if she wasn't hand cuffed to the bench she was sitting on.
Patricia had always been the bad girl at Anubis. And since Eddie came around, it just encouraged her. She had started sneaking out after curfew, meeting some kids at a night club. She'd begun to lose herself in the partying; she was forgetting that she was a straight A student- well, A's and B's, but that wasn't the point. She began to forget that she was a prized member of Sibuna, the adventurous one. And as it got to its worst, she'd even started to forget that she was a girlfriend. To Eddie. She had snuck out every night, partying until dawn, returning just in time to crash on her bed for an hour to drag herself to her third or fourth class for a few hours, sneaking back to the house after lunch to sleep. It was just a downward spiral; even she began to notice that it wasn't her anymore. Her hair was a different color every week, and for all of the daring outfits she'd worn before, it was now twice as bad. And what was worse, even Patricia herself didn't know what had caused herself to fall into this mess.
It hadn't taken the school long to notice. And despite a few meetings, she ignored them and went out even more, no one saw her on the weekends. And it still scarred her that it had taken this long for anyone to really pay attention. But one night; the one night that had brought her here, it had gone too far. Silently, she looked up as another police officer gently set something sealed in a plastic bag labeled "Evidence" on a table.
It was a gun.
