The Durmstrang Trip
By HPFangirl71
"Tell me again, why we're taking this trip?" Scorpius asked in a sulky tone.
Draco Malfoy let his fingers run through his platinum blonde hair in utter exasperation. He looked over at the boy who was a mirror image of himself. Get past the famous Malfoy looks, what else did he and the boy have in common? Draco and his son had little in common. Scorpius preferred to live a loud and boisterous lifestyle, while his father preferred a quiet, cultured existence. He had hoped this trip to Durmstrang would help them grow closer.
"Scorpius, Durmstrang is one of the finest wizarding schools around! In fact many of your fellow Slytherins would be proud to get an education there."
"As you and mother frequently point out, I'm not like my fellow Slytherins.. I actually enjoy Hogwarts. Not everyone thinks that all Slytherins are bad."
"That's true, but the Malfoys have a certain reputation at Hogwarts. I thought Durmstrang might be a new start for you."
Scorpius looked his father over with suspicion on his mind. He was a strict yet loving man who had worked hard to salvage a tarnished past. He openly admitted to his mistakes, yet made few apologies for past actions. His beliefs were somewhat narrow minded but he always had his family's best interest at heart. He knew that now was the time for a confrontation.
"Come on father, I know what this trip is really all about…"
"I don't know what your talking about Scorpius." Draco hedged.
"Yes you do. This whole Durmstrang business is all about Rose isn't it?"
"Why would your education have anything to do with a Weasley brat?!"
"You know exactly why father… because I love her."
