Imprisoned
Zangetsu was angry; actually, he was enraged. The moon zanpakutou struggled within his prison viciously, growling at the whole situation.
'Damn you, Shirosaki... And damn those fucking vizards!'
If Zangetsu was honest with himself, he would admit that he was partially to blame for his predicament. Not long after the incident with the Bount, Zangetsu had fallen into a trap laid by Shirosaki. When the Hollow had learned such a technique and gained the strength to maintain it for so long, Zangetsu wasn't sure.
In all honesty, that was inconsequential to him.
The moon zanpakutou had been fighting free of his bonds, motivated by Ichigo's calls for him. He was forced to listen as Shirosaki terrorized Ichigo, furious that he was blocked from giving his partner any kind of reassurance. Given just another day, and Zangetsu would have successfully freed himself and beaten down Shirosaki.
Then the vizards interfered; though, there was a strong possibility that they didn't realize their mistake.
Zangetsu couldn't and didn't blame Ichigo for turning to them for help; after all, he was currently indisposed. But Zangetsu had hoped that the vizards would have acted slowly enough that he could get loose and aid Ichigo himself. Unfortunately, Shirosaki had pushed Ichigo past the point of patience, which in turn made the vizards act too quickly.
They gave Ichigo no explanation, and no chance to argue or fight back; they simply knocked him unconscious and forcefully started the hollowfication process. Though Ichigo was successful in completing the trial, it inadvertently made Shirosaki's hold on Ichigo, and Zangetsu's prison, stronger.
Now it would take much longer to fight his way free, and Ichigo needed him now.
He was forced to watch as Ichigo had to rely on his Hollow Mask to reach into his dormant power, and Zangetsu fought harder to reach him. The zanpakutou knew well the consequences if Ichigo continued to be subjected to Shirosaki's taunting and taint; Ichigo could become an Arrancar at the very least.
Zangetsu once again cursed the Hollow. If Ichigo lost himself to Shirosaki, Zangetsu's fury would be the least of anyone's worries; though, he would still hunt down every person who had anything to do with Ichigo gaining Shirosaki.
And Zangetsu would never forgive himself for letting Ichigo slip away.

Zangetsu: (draws sword)
Shirosaki: Shit! (runs away)
