"Hey can I....sleep in your spare bedroom. If it's not too much trouble."

Gillian looked at Cal and nodded, seeing how much he needed it. Knowing how much she needed it herself. They couldn't be alone right now. Not after all that had happened. She pursed her lips and bit back more fresh tears as she pulled him in a hug and didn't want to let him go. Cal shoulder's slumped in the hug as he buried his head in her shoulder and relaxed in the embrace. This was what he needed right now. Not some chick in a hotel room. Not some time alone in his lab, analyzing old files. Not even a night alone in his own house with a bottle of scotch. He needed Gillian as much as she needed him.

Although that bottle of scotch did sound interesting at this point. He pulled back from the hug and looked at Gillian, seeing that her eyes were watering from the unshed tears. Cal leaned in, planting a kiss on her cheek to thank her. They both knew there could be more but this wasn't the right moment. Gillian smiled and stroke the side of his face, careful not to touch his head wound.

"I'm so glad you're alright."

"I'm always alright," Cal smiled, copying her movement and stroking her cheek as she dropped her hand. He brushed some of her hair of out her eyes and tried to keep a truthful face on his features but knew that Gillian saw through him anyway. No point in trying.

Gillian threw her arms around his neck in another hug and Cal felt her trembling in his arms. He held her tight before planting a soft kiss on the top of her head and moving away. To the spare bedroom. He heard Gillian close the door behind him and smiled. He felt as he had just come home. It sure as hell felt like it. As he got in the room, he felt Gillian's eyes on his back and turned around, facing her.

She was in her pajama's. He was already shedding his clothes and was only wearing his pants and his unbuttoned shirt. Moving closer to her, Cal smiled and took Gillian's hand in his own.

"Thanks," he didn't look at her but kept his eyes on their intertwined fingers instead.

"Get some rest," it wasn't what was on her mind but it was truthful none the less. They both needed sleep. Cal probably more than her, like always, he looked like he hadn't slept in several days.

Cal licked his lips and nodded, not taking his eyes away from their hands. Looking up, he let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and gave Gillian a soft peck on the lips before leading her towards the double bed behind him. She frowned for a second but then smiled and laid down next to him as they didn't let each other go for the rest of the night.
