L had been looking dazedly out of the window for the longest time now. Light wondered what the heck he was looking at. It had been eating away at him all day. He looked in the same direction as L and saw only snow. Lots and lots of snow. What was so interesting? Ice crystals that fell from the sky were not nearly as interesting as he was making them out to be. He just stared outside, captivated by the snow.

"Ryuzaki?" L continued looking out the window. He must not have heard Light.

"Ryuzaki!" L blinked and turned around.

"Yes, Light?"

"Please tell me, what in the world is so fascinating about snow?" L stared into space and for a moment, his eyes seemed to bear a hint of thoughtfulness, and happiness, and sadness all at the same time. He spoke dazedly.

"It has been such a long time..."

"What?" said Light.

"Oh, nothing. I guess I just like snow...Hey, Light. Could you possibly let me borrow a coat?"

"Okay...Sure, Ryuzaki."

"Thank you, Light."

Light ran and got the coat and L put it on. It was odd to see L in anything besides his white shirt and jeans. Disturbing, even. He jammed his feet into faded and beaten red converse, and walked outside. He bent down and picked up a handful of snow. He dropped it to the ground and looked all around him as he stood up. He looked like he had never seen snow before. He then did something extremely odd. He dropped to his knees and started to cry. Why? I have no idea, but something in the snow had set him off.

L remembered Wammy's. Holding Watari's hand at the gate. How Watari had took him in without caring about anything wierd about L. How he had stayed with L until the end.

Light saw this and ran to the curled up, crying, raven haired man laying down in the snow.

"Ryuzaki..?" It was a quiet whisper, as if Light were asking himself if it really was L.

"Ryuzaki?" This time he yelled, running toward the man, now sure it was really him.

"Ryuzaki." This was acknowledgement. It was Ryuzaki.

"What's wrong?" The raven haired man said nothing. He remained crying silent tears.

"You know, if you stay out here in the snow, you could get frostbite, or even hypothermia?" Silence once more.

"Come on. Let's go." He pulled on the raven's arm. When he didn't budge, he picked him up like a small child. A look of sweet surprise filled the raven's face, as tears rolled down his pale cheeks.

"You know. You're a very stubborn person, Ryuzaki. You're very eccentric as well, and I, am completely normal. We are total opposites. How is it that you put up with me?." He swooped in and kissed the frail little raven in his arms. L spoke.

"I have no idea. But I also don't have any idea how you put up with me." He kissed Light. A sweet memory in the snow.
