Nightmare, A Legolas and Thranduil Fanfiction
"Ada!" I cried. "Where are you?" I was in a forest, damp, dark and alone. I turned around and around frantically. "Ada! Ada!" I yelled continuously, scared out of my mind. I felt a presence watching me.
"Come here, little elfling, come here." A soft, soothing voice drifted to my sensitive ears. I turned towards the sound.
"Ada," I whispered. "Is it you?" I looked around slowly, taking in the rotten trees and the spider webs that I had not noticed before.
"Not at all." The voice said, slightly laughing. I now recognized that voice. It was Nana's. "I am your mother, I am here. Come, I will help you back." I backed away from the voice in shock.
"Nana? If you are here, then I must be dead." I said softly into the surrounding darkness. I desperately looked for her in the dark forest of webs.
"Legolas, come here my boy." I turned around to see Ada, his arms open and wide, his face like I always imagined it.
"Ionneg, please, come. I can lead you back home." I turned around to see Nana. She had a pleading face on, and I was starting to unconsciously walk towards her.
"Legolas, please, can you come here for a bit?" Ada asked. I looked back at him. I wanted to go to both Ada and Nana. After a small pause, I went to Nana and hugged her. When I started to put a step forward towards Ada, I was turned around sharply and slammed against a tree trunk.
"Nana?" I asked. She just slammed me harder. Her eyes were blank, and I could see pain on her face.
I saw her eyes turn back into her head, only the whites showing, as Nana turned into a giant spider. I screamed in pure fright. I punched her face. She growled back.
"Ada! Ada!" I yelled. I then felt the giant incisors of the spider shoving against my throat. My mouth opened, yet I was to scared to scream again in fright.
I awoke in sweat, gasping for air.
"Adar?" I asked softly. I jumped off my bed, and walked silently to my door. I softly ran down the hall, and stopped in front of my father, Thranduil's massive door. I took a deep breath and opened the beautifully carved door, and walked in silently, still frightened. I opened Ada's massive, more intricately carved door of leaves and trees to his sleeping chambers. He was sleeping softly.
"Ada?" I whispered, not waning to alarm him. He turned over on his bed towards me and opened his astonishingly blue eyes.
"Legolas, my son." He said softly, "What are you doing here?" He put a hand on his bed and lifted himself up. He stretched back on the amazingly carved cherry wood headboard.
"I had a bad dream." I told him softly. Ada opened his arms, and I snuggled in them, the strong and warm arms that would always hold me.
"Tell me ionneg, tell me what frightened you." I gulped, still frightened as I whispered my story to him.
"Legolas, come with me." Ada said softly. I followed him out to his balcony, and looked up.
"See the stars, ionneg? They always glow. The moon? Shines almost every night. No matter where you are, the stars and moon are always there for you." Adar pointed to a big one. "That star resembles anything you want it to, as all the others. They can help you believe and follow your dreams. Never be afraid, as you will always have the stars and moon there for you." He smiled.
I felt connected here, and gazing up at the stars, I fell softly asleep in his arms.
"Goodnight ionneg, goodnight." My father whispered.
