Okay I got the idea for this story off a site that gives prompts. I was bored and didn't have a story to update with ideas for it.

Photographs and Memories

Remus was cleaning up his house that would soon become his and Tonks. Their wedding was in a few days and she would be moving in shortly. Remus was going through boxes in his room when he came to a box that was labeled "Sirius".

Remus stared at the box for a few minutes. A whole year had passed since Sirius had died he should be able to handle this. Shouldn't he? "Come on Remus if you don't try now, you'll never be able to," He thought before opening up the box.

After opening it he found a few old cloaks, photographs, records, a stuffed dog that looked a lot like Padfoot, a photo album, a scarf, a journal, and near the bottom a poem, some letters, and a gold ring. After having gone through the whole box and taking everything out Remus realized he was crying. He remembered why he hadn't opened this box in months. Everything in there had some memory of Sirius.

The journal was Remus' but told about almost every day he had spent at Hogwarts until the day he graduated. It was full of stories of the times he spent with James, Lily, and Sirius. It told all about his crush on Sirius and his relationship with Sirius.

The old cloaks were some of Sirius' and they were Remus' favorite ones of the one that Sirius had owned. They were the ones Sirius had worn the most and smelled the most like him.

The scarf had been a gift from Sirius after a particularly bad Full Moon.

The stuffed dog was a Christmas gift from Sirius from their first Christmas as a couple. He had had it ever since their fifth year.

The album had photos from their first year at Hogwarts to their graduation seven years later. The photos were mainly from after Hogwarts and before 1981. There were some from the couple's dates. A few from Christmas, Valentine's Day, Halloween, and other holidays. Some of those were of just the couple, but some had Lily and James as well, a couple even had baby Harry. There were some from James and Lily's wedding and quite a few from his and Sirius' joining ceremony. (Basically their wedding) There were a few from 1994-1995 when the two had been back together, including Christmas in both those years.

The letters were either from the summers the Marauders spent apart or when Remus and Sirius were kept apart during Order Missions. The poem was a sad attempt at poetry from Sirius when he had forgotten one of their anniversaries.

The last thing in the box was the gold ring; it hung on a gold chain, and said: "In meus pectus pectoris forever." The phrase was Latin and translated to "In my heart forever." The ring and chain had a matching pair that Sirius owned, but unfortunately like Sirius it had gone through the veil.

After looking through the box and at every item inside Remus felt a bit better. Sure he had cried a lot, but he also knew that he wouldn't lose Sirius forever. He still had his memory, these items, and as Sirius had told him, "The ones that love us never truly leave us. You can always find them in here." Sirius had sad that before pointing at Remus' heart. He had gone on to say, "As long as I'm in your heart, you'll always be in mine."

Remus packed everything back up and placed the box on the top shelf in his closet promising himself to never throw it out.

Photographs and Memories

The end. I know that it's short and sad, but what do you expect from a story titled "Photographs and Memories"? Personally I'm not a big fan of Remus/Tonks, but I needed a reason for Remus to being go through his old stuff.
