Haven't written anything Supernatural for a very, very long time, so apologies if the characters are OOC (which I suspect they are). I'm not completely happy with this, but it's similar to what Abi asked for, kinda, maybe.
Enjoy.
Turned out, after more than a couple of drinks, the lights on the Strip simply blurred into one beautiful, mesmerising shimmer, and no matter how hard Castiel shook his head, he couldn't seem to unblur them. Staring down the road, the angel frowned, perplexed by the bustle of people and the clink of the poker chips, swaying gently as the crowds pushed passed.
"Sammy! I'm taking Cas back to the motel!" Dean's voice, low and raspy in the angel's ears, cut through the other noises of the busy streets. "I think he drank the liquor store again." A hand, warm against his arm, grasped the sleeve of Castiel's trenchcoat, guiding him through the bustle of people. "Dammit Cas! Can't leave you alone for a minute!"
Dean didn't sound pissed off, didn't sound pissed either, but still, Castiel couldn't help but feel as though he was being chastised a little. The sudden chiming of bells caught his dancing attention, and he came to an abrupt halt, tugging Dean in the direction of the smallest building on the strip, yanking on the other man's sleeve like an impatient toddler.
"Dean! What's in there? Can we see?" Without waiting, the angel pressed on, pulling Dean along behind him, while the hunter pulled out his cell phone, dialling for Sam to come save him.
"Sammy, small problem. Cas found a wedding chapel. Stop laughing and get down here. NOW!" Snapping his phone shut, Dean rolled his eyes, making no attempt at stopping the drunk angel.
By the time Sam arrived, Castiel was already inside the chapel, watching the couples come and go with wide, almost horrified eyes. "Dean. I'm confused. How can these people marry? I cannot feel my father's presence here."
The official looked up at them, a broad grin lighting his features. "Dean! Sam! Baby brother! What brings you to Vegas? No, wait, let me guess, Wendigo? Kitsune? Luci broke outta the cage again?"
"Gabriel? How... how is this possible?" Castiel frowned, staring at his brother in confused.
"No! You're dead. Lucifer killed you! We saw it happen." Dean growled, pointing an accusing finger at Gabriel.
Sam remained silent, slumping down into a nearby chair. Even now, after all this time, Dean still questioned what had happened when someone came back from the dead. Had he really not learned to just live and let live by now.
"Sammy! Surprised to see me? I should hope you would be." Gabe perched himself on Sam's lap, throwing his arms around the larger man. "I hope you missed me?"
