Don't work
Fred had just closed the shop, and he was really looking forward to spend some time with his girlfriend, but unfortunately, he didn't have high hopes. Maybe he could invite her out for dinner? Yes, that would definitely work. Hermione had moved in some weeks ago, and everything was perfect… Well, except one thing. When Fred opened the door to their flat, he found Hermione sitting by the table, drinking her tea, and skimming through one of her reports for work, scribbling down notes from time to time.
"Hermione," he smiled while taking off his work robes.
"Hi, Fred," she said, but didn't look up from work.
"Do you want to go out for dinner? There's a long time since we really have done anything together…"
"I'm sorry, Fred, but I've got to work," Hermione said and looked up, a small apologetic smile on her face.
Fred frowned, this was the excuse she used every single time. "Hermione, you don't have to work all the time, take a break."
"No, I can't, this is important," Hermione said and frowned back at him.
"Hermione, you're always working, and I understand that work is important, but you need to take some breaks!"
"Fred-" Hermione stood up.
"You need to calm down and relax sometimes too!"
"No, Fred, how many times do I have to say it? I have to work! I've got two reports left for tomorrow, and I'll eat dinner while I'm writing them, I don't have time for…" Hermione rambled about how she didn't have time while running around in the living room, picking up different stacks of papers, before putting them down again. "Right, I need to go to work again," she huffed. Then after hearing Fred's obvious sigh, she turned to him. "Look, Fred, I won't be long, but this is important," Hermione looked around for her wand. "It cannot wait. A dinner with you, no matter how lovely that would be right now, it can wait. Where's my wand? Oh, there"
Hermione jogged over to the window sill, and picked up the wand. With a tiny squeak, it turned into a rubber duck. Fred watched frantically as her mouth dropped open and she stared incredulously at the rubber duck. "Sorry, Hermione, I- I forgot I had left it there…" he tried to apologize, and silently begged her not to hex him into obliviousness. He then watched in anticipation as she looked at him with wide eyes, a furious look on her face. She looked back at the duck, back at Fred, the duck… and then she threw her head back in a loud laugh.
She dropped the duck and clutched her sides, as she continued, gasping for breath. Now it was Fred's turn to stare, but then a smirk appeared over his face and he joined in her laugh. "Fred!" she shrieked in laughter, holding out her arms for support and staggering towards him. He held his arms out for her, but she misjudged the distance a bit, and fell on him, sending them both crashing onto the floor.
Fred reached up to her face and smiled at her as she kept on giggling and laughing. Hermione grinned and when she had calmed down a bit, she leaned down and kissed him softly on the lips. "Work can wait, I'm sorry," she grinned. Fred pulled her down to him once more, and held the kiss longer. "That's quite alright. So, what do you say about that dinner?"
"Sounds perfect."
