I own nothing.
Charles Barksdale had just sprinted a block to catch the bus. He was planning on buying a car soon. He sat down in the first seat he came to and opened the newspaper. The front page news was as follows.
Family Slain During the Night
Emergency vehicles rushed to the scene of an awesomely gruesome multiple murder after an emergency call was made at 10:37 p.m. June 2. Police arrived at O'Connell Manor at 10:46 p.m., 9 minutes too late. The bodies of Rick, Evelyn, and Alex O'Connell, along with Jonathan Carnahan and two unidentified bodies were found strewn about the mansion.
The body eleven year old, Alexander O'Connell, was found in the adolescent's bedroom. He was laying face down in a puddle of his own blood. Medical examiners have said that he died of stab wounds to his chest and stomach.
The bodies of Rick and Evelyn O'Connell were found upstairs in a spare bedroom. In Rick's hands two revolvers were found. Evelyn was clutching a revolver against her chest. Unused bullets were littered around their bodies. They both died of stab wounds to their upper torsos.
Jonathan Carnahan was found by the back door, a dagger sticking out of his back. Police believe he was trying to flee the crime scene. When his body was turned over, police found that Jonathan was clutching his wallet tightly to his body.
The bodies of two unidentified men were found in the living room. One, a man with a dark complexion, black hair, and tattoos on his face, was found with a scimitar (a type of sword) lying next to him. The other, a black man with a golden tooth, was found just a few feet away from the other man. Both of the unidentified bodies were stabbed to death, like all the others.
Barely any evidence was left behind. Forensic scientists did, however, find large traces of sand in the house and a strange contraption in the backyard. What appeared to be a hot air balloon and ship was anchored in the back of the manor. No suspects have been made.
