The Life of Sir Lancelot Of Du Lak
Sir Lancelot twas a noble knight, the most noble and renown of the knights who sat at the table round.
He was famous for being the first knight of King Arthur's round table.
Over all his life was good.
Yet on the inside he was as hallow as a lonely bottle of ale.
Only when he fought was he truly happy.
The cause?
Twas not the barbaric and sadistic joy of ending lives, but the thought of being a savior.
Sending broken, dead and shattered souls to the afterlife.
He was saving them from this cursed life and protecting those who wished to wait for the piper.
His sword, Arondite was created from the blood of a dragon and could even match the power of the infamous "Excalibur" That which was wielded by the king of Camelot, King Arthur.
Though his sword did lose when it came to giving a boon, it did not need to have such abilities to prove it's worth.
With this sword he bested and saved all who stood in his path during times of war.
Yet at times of peace in Camelot that sword never once shed blood.
When Lancelot was confronted he used his wit and skill to best those who opposed him.
Before his knighting at King Arthur's court, Sir Lancelot of Du Lak traveled the world, Heading West.
West was where the wind took him.
The wind was his guide, his only friend.
The wind took him to the lake, where he first found and used Arondite.
He kept following the wind searching for something, something to live for.
During his travels he met the King's greatest ally, other than himself of course, Merlin.
Merlin was a wizard who spoke of his future and that of King Arthur.
He told of Lancelot's coronation, his leadership, and his death.
In all of Sir Lancelot's life he was never bested, yet he also never found his true calling during his life time...
Not even after he became King of Camelot.
And lo only one being could make Lancelot kneel and plunge his sword onto the earth mother one final time.
That one being was the horseman, Death. He who would save Sir Lancelot from his search and freed him from the ground beneath his feet...
Well that was a short little drabble that didn't fit into my shadaze collection, since its not shadaze at all.
Lancelot was always one of my favorite overall characters.
and this WAS originaly a project for school, which I revamped and re-wrote to fit with the freedom of fanfiction.
Thanks for the read.
