Just a very short one-shot, not relating to Family Ties whatsoever, but using the same characters though. Just a snippet about Alex's relationship with his family, cos I love Alex having a family ever so much and you will see lots more of it soon hopefully when I start writing Family Ties 2: Forever (yeah, that's the title, PM me if you have a better one). Just an update too for Operation Cold Cobra (go ead it if you haven't already done so) that I am half way through part 2 of 2 and so it will be up (fingers crossed) shortly :)
So here we gooooo!
I love you, Daddy
Alex lay silently in his bed; he looked over to his left to where his wife should be; only she wasn't. She had been in a car accident.
She had left him with their two children, three-year-old Lucas and five-year-old Jessica-Mae. Alex was still adapting to her not being there, helping to look after their young children, she had always laughed at him for how clueless he seemed to be when dealing with them. He had laughed too.
It had only been three months since her death and every now and again he would feel her sat next to him on the sofa in their lounge, the children would be in bed, he'd have a roaring fire going and they would sit there and chat about nothing. He would glance round to her at times and watch her beautiful deep blue eyes wander around the room not seeming to focus on anything; she was like that, always up for anything, never sitting still, great with the kids.
A tear slipped from the corner of his eye as he lay on his back with his head to the left. He looked to the ceiling. It was not long before he heard a creek and he tilted his head forward to see who had entered the room. He could see little Lucas creeping into the room, his teddy bear clutched as tightly as possible to his chest. Alex noticed that his cheeks were wet, and the little boy sniffed.
"Daddy?" He said creeping closer to the double bed that Alex was laying on.
"What's the matter Lucas?" He said to him softly, beckoning him up to the bed. The young boy with blond hair and brown eyes, just like his own, clambered clumsily up onto the bed and crawled over to his father.
"Had bad dream." He said.
"Oh dear, you want to sleep in here tonight?" He asked the three-year-old, who simply nodded and nestled into his fathers chest. Alex put a comforting arm around his son and closed his eyes, another salted tear running down his scarred cheek.
"Daddy, you crying?" He asked him, turning his head to face his daddy's.
"No, I'm not," He smiled. "Just get some sleep, it's very late and we're going out tomorrow aren't we?"
"Going to park to play on swings and... and the slides."
"Yeah, but only if you go to sleep." He smiled again, and chuckling in his mind. Lucas was certainly on to cheer you up, no matter what.
"You got Kannella snug too?" Kannella was his teddy bear that he had gotten the day he was born, he was a classic teddy bear with a little brown nose and dark brown fur that match closely to the boys eyes.
"Mmm." Was all he got in reply, his son was very nearly asleep. Alex kissed his son's forehead and smiled to himself, he shuffled himself to a comfortable position for the night and watched as his son's chest rose and fell in time with his own breathing.
"I love you, daddy."
"I love you too, Lucas."
Yeah, that's it, told you it was short, please review, makes me happy and will inspire my brain to get in gear and start writing the Sequel to Family Ties too :) Good comments of course are very very welcome, but also constructive criticism, but please don't flame :(
