Biohazardous Emotions- part one

In my state of mind I didn't really conceive all of my surroundings carefully. So I couldn't have been aware of the bubbly figure that was heading my way as I stared down at the table.

"Hello," the high voice rang, "is this seat taken?"

I was quickly pulled out of my trance once more and gazed up in an in-comprehending manner.

The person who stood before me was a girl, around my age from the looks of it, and she had a wide smile with perfect teeth, bright green eyes, and light brown hair. She seemed to the the kind of person who could be the head cheerleader of our school, but maybe that was just a misconception on my part.

"Um, no," I replied softly, finally answering her question.

"Okay, cool," she said as she took a seat across from me. "I'm Jessica. But you can call me Jess," she said in a very cheery mood.

"Uh hi, nice to meet you," I stammered uneasily. I was still trying to figure out why she was talking to me and not sitting with any of the other girls in the cafeteria.

"You're Julie, right?" she asked curiously, her smile never fading. "Yeah, that's me. But how did you-?"

"We have the same Algebra class together."

"Oh." Well that cleared up everything. I couldn't help but feel embarrassed for being so oblivious. But she still smiled and made me feel like I wasn't so stupid.

"Oh!" Jess exclaims, her body springing up. "I totally forgot something. I'll be right back okay?"

"Uh, yeah, sure," I mumbled softly.

Jess nodded and smiled widely as she walked away from the table.

I sighed as I was once again left alone. I didn't want to be an outcast, but I also didn't want to be too friendly because I felt that wasn't me. And also, I kind of wanted to be alone with my thoughts to be able to think everything through. But it was when I was trying to ponder on my thoughts that someone snapped me right back out of them.

"Hey, I've never seen you here before," a smooth, deep voice responded gently.

'I guess being alone with your thoughts for a few moments isn't an option in this school.'

I glanced up at the voice and was glad I hadn't rolled my eyes or ignored them completely because the one who spoke to me this time around was a guy.

He had dark brown hair and a nice smile along with dark blue eyes. He was fairly tall as well which meant he'd tower over me substantially and that made me smile inside along with the fact that he was taking the trouble to talk to me. Because simply put, he was hot. The cutest guy I had ever seen in my entire life.

"Uh, hi," I managed in return with a small smile.

"Are you new? Like, did you move here from somewhere?"

I blushed and said, "Not really, but I was sort of gone all summer so that might have taken me off the radar."

"Oh." He smiled widely. "Well that's cool. So, do you want to eat lunch with me? Then I can introduce you to some of my friends."

I had to work to keep a wide smile off of my face, I didn't want to seem too eager.

"Um, yeah. If you don't mind that be really cool."

"Alright sweet. Wait, what's your name? Sorry. I tend to skip right over introductions most of the time."

"That's okay. My name's Julie."

"Wow. Nice to meet you."

"You too."

"Oh! Sorry. My name's Sean."

"I like that name," I replied sweetly as we both stood up.

"I like yours too." He smiled widely and began to lead us to the area where his friends were gathered. And while we walked over there, we couldn't seem to stop smiling or take our eyes off of each other. And that gave me the best feeling I had felt in a very long time.

But as we were leaving the cafeteria, I saw Jessica come back to our previous table and stare blankly at it since I was no longer there. I felt a pang of guilt for leaving her after she had been so nice to me, but I was sure I'd make it up to her some day.
