Title: The Dangers of Trespassing
Pairing: Karupin/Mizuki Hajime
Prompt: Sound
Rating: G
Word Count: 495
Summary: Mizuki had just planned on gathering a bit of Echizen's data.
Notes: I got the pairing and the prompt from the PoT crack generator...blame it not me Also this was written after 3 in the morning and wasn't beta-d so if you notice any errors please let me know and I'll correct them. This is my first PoT fic that I've actually finished...Also I don't know if Karupin is a boy or girl and couldn't find anything on it so I'm going to assume it's a girl k?
Mizuki lowered his binoculars with a frustrated sigh. He had spent hours sneaking into Echizen Ryoma's home and had taken painstaking measures to assure that he would not be discovered. He'd even left his normal pack-mule, Yuuta, behind all for the sake of gathering the rookie's data. Of all the days Ryoma had to choose this one to leave early and go out with that idiot Momoshiro.
Mizuki leaned back against the tree he had taken refuge in and examined his torn shirt. His face contorted in to a pout when he looked at his beautiful purple rose that was nearly ripped completely down the middle. "How could this day possibly get any worse?" As soon as the words left his mouth he realized what he had done and clamped a hand over his mouth. He looked up to the sky; no it was still clear. He looked down at the ground; no rabid guard dogs. He checked all around him and everything looked fine. This time his sigh was one of relief.
-crack-
He froze immediately and waited to hear the sound again, but all he heard were the crickets and the light breeze brushing against the leaves around him.
-CRACK-
His eyes went wide as plates and grabbed onto the tree branch for dear life as it snapped off and started to fall. He didn't even have time to let out the girlie shriek that had formed in his throat before he hit the ground.
A few minutes later, after the initial shock had subsided, he stood up to brush himself off as he muttered curses to himself. He was however very thankful he was scared of heights and had only been able to make it up to the first branch. A rustling in the bush in front of him stopped him in his tracks. His adrenaline filled mind quickly concocted a list of dangerous animals that could be hiding in there; 'Maybe it's a tiger or a bear--maybe that's why Echizen is so strong, he must fight bears daily!' Before he could think about the matter further a fat fluffy cat emerged from the bush and stared at him with big brown eyes. St. Rudolph's manager was so relieved he fell back to the ground. This must be the cat he had in his notes; Karupin wasn't it? The aforementioned pet walked up to him and let out a small 'mew' before hopping onto his lap.
"I'm so glad you're not a bear..." he admitted quietly before hugging the fluff ball to his chest.
Karupin purred loudly, she had been so bored without her beloved Ryoma and even the old man wasn't around to torture today. She was sure she was going to die of boredom when she heard a loud sound coming from the backyard near the tennis court. She wasn't sure who this stranger was or why he was in their tree but right now she just didn't care.
