Riku's Redemption

Chapter 1: Prologue

On the Dark Margin two radically different teenagers lay down on the sand.

One was tall with teal eyes and with long, flowing silver hair who had an air of guilt and determination flowing around him. He wore a yellow and vest with a zipper over a black muscle shirt over a well built body and had a white bandage on his left hand, a remnant of his encounter with Orginization XIII thirteenth member.

His friend was practically his opposite. His chocolate brown hair was so spiky that it would have made a porcupine green with envy. He was skinny and kind of short with the eyes the colour of the sky. He wore a complicated outfit of black, red and zippers, many many zippers. He was the kind of guy who could have been hit with a bus but could still be happy.

They were both recovering from a battle with the leader of Orginization XIII, Xemnas. Riku's leg was broken and Sora was sporting a nasty looking gash on his forhead.

Sora held a great hero worship for his best friend due to his ability to redeem himself after falling into darkness. Riku held a similar respect for Sora's willpower, how he was never tempted by the power of darkness.

"Hey Sora, I kind of have a question for you,"

"Yeah Riku?"

"How are you still so optimistic even though we are in a dimension where we can be attacked any minute, we can't contact home and we are both seriously injured?"

"Easy. I just think we are still on the islands and we are playing a game, that way nothing can hurt us,"

"So that's why you had no fear of injury while you were fighting, you were stuck in a fantasy world"

"Yep. Although I'm glad it wasn't my final fantasy"

"Do you think Kairi is waiting for us?"

"Why Sora? Expecting a welcome back kiss?"

"Shut up!"

While laughing Riku spotted a message in a bottle floating in the water and picked it up. After uncorking the bottle he handed the note to Sora who read it out loud:

"Thinking of you, wherever you are. We pray for our sorrows to end, and hope that our hearts will blend. Now I will step forward to realize this wish. And who knows: starting a new journey may not be so hard, or maybe it has already begun. There are many worlds, but they share the same sky — one sky, one destiny." -Kairi The raw emotion coming from the letter created the Door to Light, a portal whose light can heal injuries and transport beings back to their homeworld. Riku stood up, his leg healed and ran towards the door with Sora hot on his heels. Then they were enveloped in a blinding light and next thing our heroes knew was that they were falling from the skyat 100 m/h and they were on fire.
Fortunately the fire was extinguished when the entered the cold water of their homeworld and the first words Riku said when he arrived back was " GODDAMN THE WATER'S COLD!". There to greet them was the king of Disney Castle, Mickey Mouse, the Captain of The Guard Goofy, the Court Mage Donald Duck and their childhood friend Kairi. Sora was a bit more calm with his first words"We're back,". Kairi corrected his statement"You're home". No one but Riku noticed the look in their eyes and he knew his chances with Kairi were non-existent which didn't really bother him that much since Sora and Kairi were a match made in heaven.
He was also the only one who spotted Sora and Kairi's nobodies sneak off to the world's keyhole. Not wanting to arrouse suspicion he discreetly gave chase.
