This is how I think Roger's deathbed scene could have gone. Please review.
Maureen, Joanne, Mark and Collins stood at the small door of Roger's hospital room. Mimi was sitting by Roger's bedside, crying softly.
Roger's eyes slowly opened, and on seeing Mimi, he smiled. Noticing the tears, he began to sing. The voice was weaker and huskier than before, but still so emotional.
"Come stop your crying it will be alright,
Just take my hand, hold it tight."
Roger, held out his hand, and Mimi gripped it with all her might.
"I will protect you from all around you, I will be here don't you cry."
With a rough, gentle hand, Roger wiped away some of the tears falling from Mimi's eyes.
"For one so small, you seem so strong,
My arms will hold you keep you safe and warm."
Roger opened his arms and Mimi snuggled into them, sniffling.
"This bond between us can't be broken,
I will be here don't you cry.
'Cause you'll be in my heart,
Yes you'll be in my heart,
From this day on, now and forever more,
You'll be in my heart,
No matter what they say,
You'll be in my heart, always."
The four watching from the door began to cry. It was heartbreaking. Roger continued the song.
"When destiny calls you,
You must be strong,
I may not be with you,
But you've got to hold on."
And with that, Roger Adam Davis drew his last breath, with his best friends Maureen Johnson, Joanne Jefferson, Tom Collins and Mark Cohen watching, and the love of his life Maria Davis by his side.
But he wasn't scared. He rose up, and took the hand of an Angel.
Was that okay? Please review, because I know a lot more people are reading my stories than reviewing. And anyone who reviews will get a cameo in my next story.
