AN: Here's another drabble... hope you like it... and don't forget to give some feedback.
He felt her next to him, as he opens his eyes he holds his breath as if that will keep her there. As he flips over he's surprised to see her there, asleep... off in her own world. He reaches for her and pulls her closer, she doesn't stir, he holds her securely in his arms. He waits for the dream to end, for her to disappear as she always does.
As he watches her chest rise and fall he remembers the past few months, what had lead to this morning. It was a lazy day, the day he would never forget. He could stay there forever, watch her as she sleeps. He had been through his share of hard times, his own disappointments but no matter what nothing was going to take her away from him, not anymore.
She opens her eyes, the night before coming back to her as fast as lighting through the night sky, she smiles as she feels him still next to her. She turns to face him, he smiles as she looks into his eyes, knowing exactly what he had been thinking. They are content there, held in each others arms, breathing each other in.
"Morning." He mumbles quietly, almost as if he is still asleep, she smiles up at him. As she moves closer to him he turns to lie on his back, she sets her head on his chest making each of his breaths move her head up and down, slowly walking her to sleep. His hand is on her back, slowly rubbing it as she falls back to sleep again. Her breathing slows and she is finally fast asleep, he notices and stops rubbing her back, leaving his hand at it's resting place. He just looks at her now, his smile still playing on his lips.
He waits just a few more minutes before he starts to confess to her, just to make sure she's asleep. He knows to get the feeling out of his heart he has to pour out his feelings, he thinks for a second before he knows how to start.
"Sam, I've loved you since that first time I saw you in the briefing room. You were beautiful, you still are beautiful. That time you were trapped behind the force field I couldn't leave because I already knew that you were my world, I looked at you and saw it in your eyes too. I knew you didn't want me to go, just as you had seen it in my eyes while we were trapped on Antarctica." He pauses, he wants to keep his feelings inside him, but they're slowly killing him. "You were made for me, I knew my life had started again when I saw you. You are here with me now, I don't want you to leave, I can't leave you. I don't care about regulations any more, they don't mean a thing to me when you're in my arms. There's nothing at all that will tear me away from you... ever." He stops, looks at her now through blurry eyes, she moves and turns toward him. She sits up and looks down at him, her eyes are wide open, he knows she heard it all. Her tears tell it all, she had given up all hope of keeping her own feelings inside the second he had let his out.
"I love you too Jack." He sits up to reach her, he places his hands on her face, tracing her cheeks and wiping away the tears. He kisses her without holding back, he lets out everything and he feels her as she falls into his arms. They are together now and nothing can ever come between them. Not the military and certainly not another person.-Ks
