Hi! This is my second fanfic, and my first one based solely on Brazen. This one is an alternate reality fic-so I'm ignoring all GH history pertaining to my characters. Brenda still has her sister Julia, but Jason has always been Jason Morgan. The rest I'll be figuring out as I go along. I will most likely only post the first chapter here and the rest at The Morgan Penthouse, unless someone asks otherwise. I hope you enjoy it! I love feedback!
Chapter 1
Brenda had decided that today would be a good day. Her much deserved promotion was supposed to be coming today- or at least that's what the rumor mill was saying. After five years at Oscorp paying her dues, she would be in the top tiers of the company. It would make her one of Oscorp's youngest execs, just as she had always striven for. With Oscorp being one of London's strongest corporations, she would become one of the cities leading businesswomen. But first she had to find her other shoe....
Jason awoke in his fancy London hotel room with much difficulty. He should have planned on arriving sooner to have any hope of getting over the jetlag before his big first day on the job. He had never imagined himself living in London, but Oscorp Industries had made him an offer he couldn't refuse. He was a rising star in the business world, and today would just be another milestone in that journey. But all that mattered at the moment was getting himself up and ready in time for the big announcement. Maybe some coffee would help...
Brenda raced into the corner coffee shop later than she would have liked. The line was almost out the door, but she refused to get her coffee anywhere else, and she desperately needed a cup before work. Finally at the front she greeted the man behind the counter with a smile. This being her regular place, he knew exactly what it was she wanted. But today he shook his head slowly, "Sorry, Brenda. We're all out"
"Out? But you're never out of java chips!"
"We used the last of them on that guy" he pointed towards the door. Brenda turned her head to see a tall blonde man leaving the coffee shop. She sighed and turned back to the cashier to order a regular coffee.
Exiting the shop she took a deep breath. It doesn't matter. Just because I don't get my favorite coffee today, doesn't mean that the rest of the day won't be good. I just have to forget about this and look forward to my promotion. If I can get to work on time.
Brenda hurried to the corner to hail a cab and couldn't help but notice the blonde thief standing a few feet away also hailing a cab. One soon pulled up to the curb, but instead of stopping for Brenda it sped past her and stopped for her blonde nemesis. In the process it managed to splash muddy water all over her. Brenda screamed, but neither the man nor the cab driver seemed to notice and he was soon driving off in her cab.
Don't cry. Just relax. So now you're not only going to be late, but you're also covered in mud. By the end of the day you'll be laughing over this ridiculously bad start to such a great day, Brenda thought, trying to be optimistic. Unfortunately it wasn't working too well.
