Clay gives Alexa ride to school. It's pouring, witch is the only reason Clay took the car. His mom didn't like the idea of riding the bike in the rain. Alexlooks like he had just seen a ghost. He really isn't ready for school.
"Dude, are you sure this is a good idea? If you want me to take you home just say so. No one is expecting you to show up." Clay says after a few minuets of Alexlooking out the window and at Clay alternately.
"No it's fine, we need to talk to Justin and Courtney. So I can just as well be here. But thanks." Alex shighs and starts biting his nails. Nervous, obviously.
At school.
When Clay and Alex walk in to the school, everyone goes silent. Clay's mind goes to the day he heard Hannah died. And in a few minuets everyone were wispering. "where was Clay this summer?" and "Is Alex back?!" were the only two things you could hear people say. Clay spots Justin at his locker and Courtney walking down the hallways.
"hey Guys." Clay says in that, sympathetic tone they all got after the tapes. They all hug Alex.
"we need to talk about what happend to Alex last year." Clay adds after all the hugging.
"No, we need to talk about your whereabouts this summer. You just dissapeard on us." Courtney is mad. Justin isn't as mad, but then on the other hand noone is as mad as her after everything.
Clay is defensive just by her asking, still knowing that lying is not a big deal, and not that hard to be honest.

"erhm, I was at my grandmas.. in California.. Doing nothing all summer." He leans up against the lockers trying to look cool.
"Liar." Justin yells. "you got a new car and new clothes. You must have done something."
They all stare at him making him even more nervous.
"Okay, I was taking car of my grandma and she was paying me to stay with her so she wouldn't get lonley over the summer. And my mom tought I needed the break.. after everything." He lies again. They all nood, between believe and disbelieve.
The bell for classes rings and they all say goodbye and walk away.
