Fact of Life (of course)
Of
course he'd slept with Yoruichi.
It would have been strange not
to. She'd followed him out of Soul Society (although he knew her too
well to think she'd done it out of passionate love or something
such), she'd been the only familiar thing to him in an alien world
full of alien people. And he to her. Sometimes Kisuke thinks things
would be much easier for everybody if the Shinigami saw themselves as
a part of the human race - which they undoubtedly are - and not
apart. He'd not thought himself enamored with that ridiculous idea,
but when the only world left to him was the human world, he found out
he apparently still had. He didn't tell it to Yoruichi. He thinks she
guessed anyways - their situation was similar enough. So yes, he'd
slept with Yoruichi - for companionship, for warmth, for
understanding, for familiarity, for home...
And it would have been insulting not to when she was offering herself so readily. The cat mentality was rubbing off... The more time she spent as a cat the less she was thinking about things like clothes (or utensils) in rare occasions she was back in her first form. It was getting difficult for Kisuke to decide which of Yoruichi was the "true" one. He thinks it was starting to blur for her, too. Yes, as a cat, free and independent and coming to him as a woman only when she felt the need. Or when he felt - she'd always been good at sensing his needs.
It has changed now.
Yoruichi sits and drinks tea. It's warm but she's wrapped herself into a towel she found in the bathroom. If she'd asked he would have lent her one of his robes, but she didn't... And this is his fault.
Yoruichi is drinking her tea and she's not saying many things. She's not saying "he's fifteen" or "it's actually because of you his life is messed up" or "it's really your fault he goes out night after night to fight Hollows" or "if you just had thought before you did" or "if you'd stopped when there was a chance we might both still be in the Soul Society and he would be an ordinary boy" or "did you think it through, truly, before you started training him? what it would do to him?" or "what he has become - it's because of you" or "you can't" or "Kisuke, do you even know what love is?" or...
She's not saying any of those. Knowing her the way he
does, she's not even thinking most of them, but Kisuke does and
that's enough. "Yes," he says to them, "yes, I know.
Yes, it is. Yes, I won't."
Yes, I do...
He
can't fight Ichigo's battles for him. What is done is done. And he is
not going to seduce Ichigo, even though he would probably succeed if
he truly tried. He's not going to.
Of course not.
