Summary: There are tales of heroes who take it upon themselves to journey without rest. This group of would-be heroes wants nothing more but to rest. A snowy night is what meets them in Flanoir, along with temples and time. They rest uneasy, though it is Yuletide tonight.

A Snowy Night

--------

The snowy peaks,

The distant sighs,

Trembling in laughter,

This Yuletide night,

----

Shared looks of longing,

At toys on their shelves,

Weapons gleam,

Gald calling to be spent,

-----

Fathers withhold tears,

Joy is in the air,

Infecting all around,

His son is not dead!

-----

Whispers of worries,

Recede in their minds,

Just what can call them back,

From the magic beheld tonight?

-----

Wolves of savage blood,

Tear at their sides,

Monsters erupt,

Determined to end their slides,

-----

Puzzles test their minds,

Their skill,

And their worth,

Lives depend on this,

No matter the hurt,

-----

A frozen shrine awakened,

The frigid goddess called forth,

Icicles of red,

Tumble lethally to the floor,

-----

Their victory is assured,

Luck is on their side,

Cheers erupt,

Piercing the silence of the night,

-----

They return to their haven,

Of warmth and of rest,

Conversations are partaken,

Of memories of bliss,

------

One recalls a woman,

Fair and good of heart,

Who died by his hands,

Her smile imbedded in his mind,

Throughout,

-----

Another recalls fathers,

One lost and gained,

Both would look up at the stars,

A treasured memory made,

----

All lost in their musings,

It is time to rest,

Troubles are forgotten,

And sleep finally wins,

----

This Yuletide night,

Is one of peace,

Friends and family alike,

Gather 'round a tree,

-----

But heroes know,

Neither rest nor peace,

So this bout of silence,

Is what they dread will cease,

----

They all withhold tears,

Joyful,

That at least,

They are together with friends,

The fiery hearth,

A shared witness for each.
