The computer monitor flickered, faded to black, then flickered again. The room faded to black along with the monitor. Only the sound of the hard-drive humming could be heard. A controller lay suspended from the cluttered computer desk, not quite reaching the floor due to the fact it was still attached to the P.C. It spun gently and slowly from side to side, until, eventually, it stopped its movements. A girl - asleep? Unconscious? - lay still in the chair that remained in front of the computer desk, her head resting on the keyboard, her headgear casting a faint blue light over her eyes, which were open, but blank. Staring into nothing. Her lips were parted as if interrupted in a conversation with someone, her lipstick from the day's activities before still remaining with a slight tint of red. One of her arms hung limp next to her, the other remained next to her head, bent at a ninety-degree angle, her fingers resting upon a small piece of paper - a business card? A birthday invitation? The computer screen flickered to life again and remained this way. On the black screen in large grey letters were the words "GAME OVER". The rest of the household slept through the night without the slightest idea that the girl in the second room on the left upstairs was, indeed, Gone.
