A/N: I have a serious writer's block for Once Upon a Child... I've written one sentence up until now, and I've had like a week or something to write. Seriously. I just... and school isn't helping either, I'm not doing all that well since I just got back a grade and it turned out to be a 4 for my essay... but okay. I just wanted some fluff and this is what I wrote.

Disclaimer: Nothing is mine.

'Not today'

As she threw her head back and laughed carelessly, on the top of her lungs, Jane felt at home for a few seconds. He forgot about everything, he didn't think about Red John, or his suspects list or Lorelei – the only thing he was focused on was she, trying to catch her breath while clutching at her chest.

He moved his hand inside his pocket and only then was reminded of the small velvet box he had put in there months ago.

One day, he told himself. One day, he would make her his.

Just not today.

~...~

Her face always lit up when she was handed Benjamin.

"Reese! Reese!" the little man exclaimed with a blinding smile on his face. His hair was slightly ruffled – that might have been Jane's doing – and his cheeks were flushed to him having loads of fun.

Teresa chuckled as she cuddled him close to her chest. When Benjamin couldn't see her face anymore, Jane saw it – her smile faltered and her eyes turned sad. It was just a split-second, but he saw it anyway.

He recognized that look, he saw it in the mirror every day: it was grief. She was grieving what she had never had in the first place: a baby.

~...~

Time was flying by and he knew that they were running out of time. She might be denying it but she wasn't getting any younger and her biological clock was softly ticking away.

In a final attempt to save what little was left of their friendship, he asked for an unplanned movie night – just the two of them as best friends.

He watched as she once again lost herself in the movie and laughed without a shame. His heart constricted painfully – it knew what it wanted, or rather, who.

She regained control of her laugh, yet when she turned her head towards him all funny stuff ended.

They had waited far too long for this to happen, and they were sick of pretending they had no feelings whatsoever.

~...~

Sighs changed to moans, moans to cries as they tore down their complete friendship.

She scratched his back, and he was sure that would leave some marks, but he didn't care.

Afterwards they lay in each other's arms. She was crying, and he wasn't sure if it were sad or happy tears. When she turned her head to kiss him, he knew it was the latter.

~...~

"No regrets?" she asked him softly as she lowered the white stick.

Strangely – no, he didn't have any regrets.

He just smiled at her and grabbed both her hands, to lift one to his lips and kiss her fingertips.

"Do you feel any regrets?"

She looked at him for a very long time, and he drowned in her beautiful emerald eyes.

She shook her head and shifted her eyes to the hand he was kissing.

"When did you know?" she asked him.

"Know what?"

"That you loved me."

"Since the very first moment we met," he said, not missing a beat. "Of course, the feeling was never as strong as it was that moment when we made love for the first time, or now, it progressed over the years."

She closed her eyes. He kissed her wrist, then made his way to her shoulder until he arrived at the sensitive spot behind her right ear.

His hands let go of hers and instead started caressing her hips, waist and then breasts.

"I love you," she sighed as he kissed her earlobe.

"And I love you too."

One day, he would regret making her his.

Just not today.

A/N: Reviews and feedback, it's all very much appreciated. I really need it especially since I'm still doubting whether I'm having a slight burn-out or not.
