Epiloge
I jolted when I felt something bug me on the shoulder.
"Kris, time to leave, I'm closing", Daniel, the librarian said and pointed the clock.
"Damn, I'm sorry, you should have said something", I rambled and got up picking up my things. It wasn't the first time when I was dozed off and woken up by the staff. I was pretty much usual sight in the library.
" I'll see you on Friday. Bye"
I put on my earphones on and I threw my penny board on the ground. I went my way to home, luckily my place was only fifteen minute way.
But when I got home, I noticed that my keys weren't anywhere. I cursed.
I left fast to go back and hoped that Daniel was still there.
But strangely the door was still open, and I just felt like something was wrong. I pushed the door.
"Daniel, are you here?"
Then I saw a pair of shoes behind the counter. Cautiously I walked over. There he was out cold, bleeding from his chest.
"Oh my god" I reached to my phone and called 911.
"911, what's your emergency?"
"Hi, I'm in the Little Libary in Virginia, a librarian was shot, I'm trying to stop the bleeding, but he's not breathing and I can't feel his pulse"
"Miss clam down, the police is coming and the ambulance, keep the pressure on the wound, the help is coming"
"Did you see the assailant"
"No, I didn't, the door was open and -"
Then my head collided with something hard, and I was thrown away from Daniel.
I passed out and found my eyes covered and hands tied to something, my ears were also covered with something. There was only silence. Tears were running down my cheeks, my heart was beating fast. But then I heard loud shouting and bangs. Running. I felt like my senses were crazy, every noise was so loud. It felt like forever.
I started trashing when somebody touched my shoulder I started trashing, I was so scared. Somebody took off the headset.
"Miss, don't move, I'm from the FBI", somebody said and took the blind off.
An older man with FBI vest, with dark hair and brown eyes. He talked to someone, I just concentrated on his eyes. My head felt a little bit dizzy, he helped me up, but my legs gave out, he quickly grabbed me and carried me in princess style. He spoke to me in a low and calm voice, trying to keep me from going into a panic. My head was resting against his chest, so I could hear his calm heartbeat, it lulled me into unawareness.
