Love is chaos and pain. Draco knew that. Draco had spent seven years longing for the one he loved. At first, he had just wanted him to be his friend. A crush developed, then passion, then devastating longing, then love. Draco knew life wasn't fair but love was even more unjust.

Draco sat in a tree in the Forbidden Forest as he thought this. He was supposed to be in Dark Arts class, practicing the Cruciatus curse on his fellow students, but he didn't have the energy to do so today. He sat in the sunlight, glad to get away from the constant gloom of the castle.

He wouldn't admit it, but Draco really missed the old Hogwarts. With Charms class, with oafs teaching classes, with Harry.

Draco had a sharp intake of breath as he thought the boy's name. Harry Potter, Undesirable No.1, The Boy Who Lived; the boy he loved.

Draco had been devastated to find out that Harry would not be returning to Hogwarts, but he should have known. Harry had a world to save. And he had to save it from people like Draco.

With that thought in his mind, Draco re-entered the Castle. He went straight to his dormitory and slept. He was woken hours later when the entire school was called forward. His heart leapt when their Headmaster, Severus Snape, had spoken of none other than, Harry Potter. He had flinched when Snape asked if anyone knew his whereabouts. Luckily, no one had spoken up. Except Harry Potter himself, who stepped out from beside his fellow students. Draco felt like screaming. In horror, because Harry could be killed; in glee because he could finally see the raven-haired boy again.

All the students watched and everyone was shocked. Draco stared at Harry, willing him to catch Draco's eye. When he did, nothing but a stony glare greeted him. Draco weighed his options and was about to make a choice when a shrieking voice took over his brain. Many screamed as the message was delivered.

"I know you are preparing to fight. Your efforts are futile. You cannot fight me. I do not want to kill you. I have great respect for the teachers at Hogwarts. I do not want to spill magical blood. Give me Harry Potter, and none shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter and I will leave this school untouched. Give me Harry Potter and you will be rewarded. You have until midnight."

It was Voldemort's voice. And as soon as the message ended, Draco stared imploringly at Harry.

"No," he whispered as Pansy, a girl whom he was once quite fond of spoke up.

"But he's there! Potter's there! Someone grab him!"

Draco silently cursed at her for her stupidity. The Slytherins were now being sent to the dungeons.

With one last look at Harry, Draco whispered the words he longed for the boy to hear.

"I love you, Harry."

Then, he started to make his way towards the dungeons before stopping and remembering his last thought before bed, those many hours ago. With one more look at the Chosen One, he took out a lean, elegant knife from him pocket. With one swift movement, he slit his wrists and his own throat for good measure. Harry had to kill Death Eaters and Draco was doing him a favor. In a few swift seconds, Draco was dead. His last dying thought, love is chaos, love is pain.

In a life of making wrong choices, Draco had finally made one right one.
