We all know that in the North Ned is well beloved and is a shrewd, just and wise lord. But in the South where honor means nothing he's naïve to the point of stupidity.
Well, what happens if after Robert's rebellion Ned marries both Catelyn and Ashara due to the near decimation of House Stark at the hands of the Targaryens; using ancient laws of the first men dating back to the unification wars of the north.
Both Jon and Rob are raised as brothers and are thick as thieves. However when Ned Stark dies, it triggers a succession crisis that pits both Jon and Robb against each other.
Ned has two major influences in his life
Artos Snow – His bastard Uncle
Jon Arryn – His foster father
Artos has considerable influence on his great nephews and nieces due to his journeys around the kingdom and free cities.
When the crisis begins it appears that it could end before it begins when the great houses of the north call for kings moot to choose who will sit the weirwood throne.
The kings moot declare for Jon
War begins when the river lords raise their banner for Robb stark at the urging of their liege lord.
