In my time and indeed ages before, I have been known by many names.
Uniter. Savior. Spiritual advisor. Avatar.
They say each Avatar has been pre-destined for his or her role, yet fate, or the gods, whichever one you hold to, occasionally intervenes and, as though playing at some humorous fancy, chooses another, less likely soul through which to bring enlightenment and balance.
I am believed to be one of these errant, unlikely souls. Yet always the truth has been what you hold close to your heart. I am no mere otherworldly jest. I was brought forth into a world scarred and torn, a world still healing, even 70 years later, from a hundred years of hatred and rage: an all-consuming fury that burned far and wide. The past can repeat itself, lest we forget that which has come before.
And it is to this world I pledge myself, my wisdom, my guidance, my life. I shall not falter in fulfilling my duty.
I am Korra, the last Avatar.
