"Joe! I have new recipes for you to try!" Katie ran into the dining room, carrying a plate full of cakes and other sweets. She had a smile on her face as her eyes scanned the room. "Ah… Joe?" She looked around. He must be hiding… she thought quietly to herself. …just like last time. "Aha!" Katie saw a glimpse of blue cloth with white stars covering it behind a small sofa. "There you are! What are you doing down there, eh?"

"Oh, uh… me?" Joe began nervously, getting to his knees. "Just doing… exercises! I have a remodel on a barn to do for Jamie tomorrow because there's a ton of rain water coming in and since it's a fairly large barn… not to mention getting that horse under control and fending off that maniacal guard-dog and all…"

"Jamie moved a while ago… Joe…" Katie said angrily, tapping her foot on the ground. "And… it's been a while since the whole cake incident thing in the Café! It's much better now!" She smiled tenderly. Joe clutched his stomach in remembrance of that.

"One, Jamie didn't move," He said smartly, standing up and leaning on the sofa's arm. "Two," Joe held up two fingers, "I'm not hungry." Then, unluckily at that very moment, his stomach growled in hunger. He winced.

"Not hungry?" Katie walked up closer to him. "Please, Joe! Just try it!" She then smiled the smile that even Joe couldn't say no to.

"Fine, fine…" He looked at Katie who was still smiling sweetly, and slowly grabbed a piece of chocolate cake off the platter.

The suspense was too much for Katie to bear, so she motioned for him to hurry up. "Come on, it won't kill you." Joe dropped his hand for a moment.

"What will it do then? Sever? Maim? Decapitate?!" He continued to ramble on. Katie giggled at his answers.

"No, nope and never! Just try it!"

"Okay…" He looked at her with shifty eyes for a moment and then ate the cake whole. It was so sweet, so tart… he just couldn't stand to continue eating it any longer, so he just swallowed it like the time before and hoped what happened last time wouldn't be repeated.

"Joe…" Katie looked at him strangely. "Are you okay…? You look pale again…"

"Uh… yeah! I'm perfectly fine!" He lied, taking a few steps backwards, then his stomach rumbled loudly again. "Uhh…. Excuse me…" He ran into a room and slammed the door shut.

Katie put her head in her hands. "Not again…"

Heh, I always wanted to give this a try! Not so happy about how it turned out though. XD
