Hey, everybody! I know it's been a while since I last posted a story, but here's the beginning of one! And just so you know, this is based on the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast. So, Geeky BMWW Fan, here's what you asked for! Also, I don't own the characters, or Beauty and the Beast, and I'm not profiting from this in anyway (unfortunately).

Prologue

Once upon a time, in a crime ridden New Jersey city, there resided a fearsome knight who fought evil. And even though he terrified criminals, the knight reveled in solitude, darkness, and grief.

Then, one rainy fall night, the warrior saved an old homeless woman from muggers. The woman begged the knight to remove his mask and show his face to her. The knight explained that this request was a truly impossible one to oblige, for if he revealed his identity to her, it could lead to endangerment from villains who wanted revenge against the masked man. But the old woman warned him to see past her appearance, for strength and beauty are found within.

When the knight refused her again, the woman's age and body melted away to reveal a beautiful sorceress. The knight was shocked, but it was far too late, for the sorceress had seen that his heart was filled with loneliness and that it lacked love. So she placed a powerful spell on him, transforming him into his civilian identity, unable to assume the guise of the knight. She also made it impossible for him to leave the boundaries of his sizeable home, and she reverted all of his crime fighting associates into their secret identities.

Angered at the imprisonment, the knight tried to force a way out of his house, but he could find no opening. He was totally cut off from his city, with only five televisions as a link to the outside world. Still, there was a slimmer of hope. If the knight could learn fall in love with a woman of complete strength and earn her love in return before the summer solstice in two years, then the spell would be broken. But if he didn't complete this task before that date, he would be doomed to be confined for all eternity.

As the days, weeks, and months passed, the knight fell into despair, and furthered his seclusion by cutting off all communication, even from his comrades in a Justice League of similar heroes. He became terribly bitter, and lost all hope-for whom could ever learn to love Bruce Wayne?

Let me warn you of something: it may be a while until I post again, because I'm going to camp for twelve days. But hopefully, I get great brainstorms while I'm there!
