"It's not really a sky blue, maybe something you'd imagine if you thought of the ocean." Quasimodo said, trying to describe a woman's dress he could see in the square below.
"Quasi... I've been blind my whole life. I don't know what 'blue' is." Lynn chuckled half heartedly.
Quasi could hear the sarcastic 'sigh' of Laverne behind him, which made him nervous.
"Right... Um..., Sorry..." He whispered, as he looked at his feet. Out of the corner of his eye, he thought he saw a smile cross Lynn's face.
Lynn closed her eyes and inhaled deeply.
"Don't be," she said, suddenly stern.
As Quasimodo continued to observe her, she tilted her head back and took another deep breath.
"It's warm up here," she said, after several minutes of silence.
"Oh! I-if it's too hot for you, w-we can go back down.." He trailed off.
"Sorry." She chuckled.
"I meant, I can feel light shining on my face. It's wonderful."
She sighed, content.
Her hand scraped the floor, looking for Quasi's. With his help, she found it, and firmly grasped it. Quasi could feel the prying eyes of the gargoyles on his back, and turned beet red.
Lynn laid back onto the floor, pulling Quasi down with her. Within seconds they had been reduced to a giggling mess on the ground of the bell tower.
"Quasi.." Lynn whispered.
"Yes?"
"Would you read me a story? I like to listen to your voice."
"Of course."
