Hey! thatwhalehoggingmypillow has a new story!(YAY!)

Disclaimer: I don't own fairy tail.

July 7th, X777. The day the dragons disappeared.

Igneel had been dreading the day he would have to leave the pink haired menace. The days of tussling, little scuffles, and fatherly love would be gone. The days of summer's warmth would be gone.

No one wants to leave their young, humans or dragons.

Tomorrow as the sun rose, Natsu would awake and find that Igneel was missing. So would all the young dragon slayers, and the dragons could only hope that they would meet again.

The moment where the moon rose to it's highest point was where Natsu would be alone again.

It broke Igneel's heart to leave him, and only have memories fill the spot Igneel left empty.

For Natsu, life would never be the same again.

Igneel could only hope that Natsu found a new family. One that would love him, be as rambunctious as him, and most of all, fill the spot Igneel had left.

Looking out at the stars, Igneel recalled the summer memories...

"IGNEEL! RAWR!" Natsu bowled towards Igneel with his hands on fire. Igneel easily dodged, but poor Natsu smashed into the wall. Igneel rumbled heartily. This wasn't the first time, of course...

How Igneel would miss that little brat...All the scuffles, smiles, and ruffling that spiky pink hair("IGNEEL! MY HAIR IS NOT PINK! IT'S SALMON!"Oh, how Igneel would tease him) And then the mighty fire dragon remembered.

Natsu's muffler.

"Thank you Igneel! I love it!" Natsu hugged his snout, and Igneel snorted happily. "I'll love it forever! When I look at it I'll think of you!" Natsu grinned, and Igneel couldn't help but grin back...

"IGNEEL YOU STUPID COALHEAD! ARE YOU JOINING US OR WHAT!"

"Shut up you rusty lizard! You're no better! Just say you're sad to leave Gajeel instead of yelling at us!"

The rest of them had arrived.

"I loved that Wendy, and I know all of you must have loved yours too...just remember all the memories that you had. Now, you two great oafs! Let us go!" Grandine flew into the sky.

"She's right, Metalicana. All we can do is remember, and hope they do too." Igneel said softly. Metalicana was silent. Finally, he spoke.

"It's hard, huh? Leaving them...it feels like the worst thing in the world..."

"But we have to, you know. It's time for them to grow up."

He nodded. For a moment all the two dragons could hear were the crickets chirping.

"...Let's go."

The metal dragon flew off, but Igneel waited for a moment, bending over to peek at Natsu's calm face. Natsu mumured something, and Igneel leaned in close to catch the whisper.

Then the mighty Igneel got his face punched. By a pink haired toddler.

"HAH TAKE THAT IGNEEL!" Natsu sleep yelled.

Igneel shook his head in exasperation. Would that fiery brat ever grow up? Probably not. The fire dragon smiled sadly.

"Farewell, Natsu"
