Chapter One: Reliving Memories

"Bella, tell me about Edward." My mother said as we sat down at my kitchen table. I knew this was coming. My mom and dad, even though divorced, had a friendly relationship. They both was worried about me, because of the loss I had to deal with last summer. I was getting better I suppose.

"Mom, I- I don't where to start." It was true. I didn't know where to begin my story. There really wasn't a real start of my story, only a permanent end. A non-reversal reality. A true end to my life.

"Start at the beginning of the summer you spent with Charlie." My mom suggested patting my had across the table.

I sighed and slowly began my story.

The summer sun in Arizona beach was blinding. Just the way I like it. Summer sun high in the air. Friends beside me. What more could I want? I was twenty-one now and I was ready to have some real fun. Me and my friends were laugh at some joke as Jacob ran up the pier to me. Jacob was the family friend that had a crush on me every since the last summer I came here. I really liked Jacob but, it was more like a brotherly kind of love.

"Hey, Bells." Jacob said pulling me into a hug before jumping on the railing, knocking off my bag into the water.

"Oh no, my bag." My cell phone, iPod, wallet, and make up was in there. "Jake go get it! My whole life is in there!"

Jacob too off running down the pier as I herd a splash. I gasped as I saw a person fall into the water. Me and my friends ran over to where the splash had occurred. Just then a man shot up out of the water with my bag in his hand. He was trying to keep it out of the water best he could but everything was probably ruined anyway.

I ran down the pier to thank the kind man. I laughed as I saw Jacob panting like a dog at the edge of the water. I turned my attention the man who had kindly retrieved my bag.

"Thank you so much, your a life savor." I said as he handed me my bag. "I'm Bella."

"I'm Edward." He said extending out his hand. I took it and smiled.

"Thank you, I owe you." I said smiling looking Edward over. He was so gorgeous. The way his swim trunks hung low off his hips. He must have caught me staring, because he gave me a crooked smile and laughed. I blushed and looked out at the water.

"Don't worry about it. I'm glade to help."

"Um do you want to meet me and my friends for dinner? Where just having a BBQ." I asked hoping to get the chance to know him.

"No. No thank you. My dad's cooking dinner, so I should probably be going." I sighed as disappointment washed through me.

"Oh okay then. I guess I'll see you around?" I asked giving him my best flirty smile.

"Yeah, sure" He smiled.

I smiled and turned to walk back to my friends.

Alice giggled. "I think you have a follower."

I turned back to see Edward walking behind me. He grabbed his surf board.

"I forgot my surf board." He said motioning to his orange board.

"At least let me give you a bear for your walk home." I said hopefully.

"Alright." Edward agreed.

Edward and I walked close to each other as we walked back to my house. I didn't know if it was just me or if Edward felt it to but, I felt a strange jolt of electricity between us. I looked up at him to find him smiling at me. I bushed and looked down , hoping he felt it too.
