The Study of the Cookies
By: M14Mouse
Summary: G helps Sam's daughter make cookies for some holiday project for school.
Disclaimer: Don't own them.
"No, Uncle G…you aren't suppose to make them that way," Kamran shouted behind him. G turned away from the open fridge to see her standing there behind him.
"How are you supposed to make them then?" He said in amusement.
"I don't know. I was just following the instructions." She said.
"What does the sheet said that we need?"
"Unsalted butter."
"Does Sam even have unsalted butter?" He said before turning back to look into the fridge. Butter was butter to him.
"Uh huh…Daddy has everything."
He grabbed a tub of butter from the back of the fridge and handed it to Kamran the butter.
"What else do we need?"
"2 Eggs."
"Anything else we need in here?"
"Nope."
"Okay," He said as he moved up and away from the door before closing it.
"What else do we need?"
"Uhh…sugar, kissing salt, flour, vanilla ex….tract, baking soda, and Spanish peanuts."
"I think that is called kosher salt. Spanish peanuts?"
"Yup…because it is for my Spanish holiday project. I'm doing Cinco De Mayo. We get extra credit if it made something. Daddy said that it is important to do extra things to help our grades even dress like a pirate."
He didn't want to laugh. Pirate? He had to get a picture of that one. Maybe, if he asked Michelle. Maybe, she would give him a copy. Oh, the mocking that would be involved. It would make his week.
It was very funny that she was acting so serious about this. It was almost staring at a mini Sam. His partner was too serious about the strangest thing sometimes especially math.
"So Spanish peanuts?"
"See? It is on the list," She said as she handed him the list. He took the list and read it over. There were really Spanish peanuts on the list.
"But…my teacher said if you couldn't find them that you can use the normal ones."
He snorted a little. Knowing Sam, he either had the Spanish peanuts somewhere or he would have go out and search for them.
He wasn't about go on that trip.
As much as he loved her, he already had to do that with Sam. No thanks.
"I think that regular peanuts will do. Do you have kosher salt?"
Kamran shrugged her shoulders.
"I don't know. I just know that we have salt."
He forced his lips together and smiled slightly. Although, he could see little bits of Michelle in her as well.
"So, why did you choose something that you didn't have ingredients for?"
"Because it is better than green beans!"
Okay…she had a point there.
"So, how many of these cookies do we have to make?"
"Enough for the class…and maybe for you and me, Uncle G."
He grinned as he reached over and ruffled her hair a little bit. She giggled.
"I like how you think. Let get started. Maybe…you can tell me more what your daddy do for extra credit in school," He said with a grin.
-NCISLA-
"So…a pirate?"
"Who in the world told you that?"
"Your daughter."
"I knew that it was a bad idea to leave you two along."
"It was your fault that you left us alone with the cookies. I had a wonderful time bonding with her. You are jealous that our cookies turned out to be awesome. I was disappointed that there weren't any pictures."
"There isn't. You don't have to worry about that."
He grinned to himself.
Oh, Sam….
The picture in his pocket told him otherwise.
There will be totally mocking in the car, buddy.
End of the Study of Cookies
A/N: This is the call out to all of those weird food projects that you had to during our school years. I remember doing butter type green beans and peanut butter cookies in school for random holidays. If you ask me how they are related…I have no idea. XD Read and Review if you wish.
