Title: Nothing But A Dream

Summary: A nightmare takes hold of Arthur one stormy night.
A/N: A dream that I had about my friend the other night, scare me to death.
A huge storm raged high above the castle, scaring young children awaking them from there sleep, most people slept through the storm, including a young knight by the name of Arthur or Prince Arthur. Most nights through a storm he would sleep peacefully, but to night he tossed and turned in his bed as a nightmare takes its hold.
*dream starts*
Arthur stood in the courtyard dressed in full armour, sword in hand, dead bodies surrounding him . He had been fighting for hours, not far away from him he could see his servant/lover Merlin and their friend Del fighting, both wore full armour, both stood their ground, both would stand and fight along side him.
He had not wanted them to fight, but the pair were a stubborn as he was and nothing would change their minds.
Arthur turned only more in his sleep, burying in his head in his pillow.
Just as the battle looked won, a scream reached Arthur's ears he turned to that a foe had stabbed Del through the stomach and Merlin had let out the scream.
He quickly killed his foe and run toward his friends, finally getting to his friends Arthur knelt down beside them and saw Merlin was trying to stop Del's blooding but to no avail.
"Del stay with me" Arthur shouted over the roar of the battle.
"I'm trying….Ahhh" she screamed back
Arthur picked Del up in his arms and run back into the castle, with Merlin not close behind.
Arthur turned onto his back, sweat rolled down his bare chest and he gripped hard on to his sheets.
"Gaius….Gaius" Arthur shouted as he run into the throne room that had been set up to help the wounded from the battle.
"What's wrong?" Gaius walked up to Arthur, to find Del in his arms blood pouring from her stomach "get her on the table over there quickly"
The young prince placed her on the table, knelt beside her, taking her hand and stroking the hair out of her face "your going to be ok Del" he was saying this more to himself, fear had taken over the prince the fear of losing his friend.
Tears made their way down Arthur's cheeks, as he gripped his sheets even tighter if possible
"Del please don't die" Arthur said tears streaming down his cheeks "I need you here with me"
"You will be fine Ar-thur" her breathing becoming shorter "the people around you will take care of you"
Arthur shook his head "Not like you can"
Del smiled "You will be a great king Arthur, love you my prince"
"I love you too, my lady"
Del smiled one more time before closing her eyes and become still.
"no….no…NO !"
*dream end*
"NO!" Arthur screamed waking from his dream covered in sweat, tears running down his cheeks.
The next moment the doors to his chamber's swung opened revealing Merlin and Del, Del run up to the princes bed "Arthur are you alright I heard you scream from my chamber's"
Arthur could not believe it, Del was standing in front of him alive and full of life, a tearful smile broke across the prince's face, he moved back to sheets on his bed, got out of bed walking up to the girl pulling her tightly to his sweat covered chest. "your alive" he whispered in her ear.
Then both Merlin and Del, revealed that Arthur had waken up scream from a nightmare where she had been killed or died, Merlin walked forward placing his head on Arthur's shoulder and kissed it "She's alive my love, she's not going anywhere"
"It was all a dream Arthur, nothing more" she spoke softly before placing a kiss on Arthur's chest, and a kiss on his heart.
"Yeah, nothing but a dream"
