A/N Bobby's reminiscing about when he first discovered he was a mutant.
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
"F-f-freak!"
As I sat with my fellow junior X-Men on the sand I laughed and talked for a while. We were all wearing small amounts of clothing. Ours shoes were thrown in an abandoned and forgotten pile on the sweltering sand.
This sweltering hot day reminded me of one and only one this hot six years ago.
~*Flashback*~
"Bobby, go outside. It's beautiful." My mother said.
"Aw, mom…I don't want to go. It's gotta be a hundred degrees out there." I moaned. I really hated the summer unlike most of my friends; whatever was hot to them for some reason was ten times hotter to me.
"Bobby, go outside. I don't want you to rot in front of video games, a day like this probably only comes around once every ten years."
"Alright! I'll go! Happy now?" I got up and went outside.
It was sweltering. It was the kind of day you could fry an egg on the sidewalk. Everyone was in minimal amounts if clothing, the younger you were the less you wore. The adults were in shorts and t-shirts, the teens in bathing suits, little kids in underwear, and littlest kids in nothing.
I immediately began to sweat. I felt nauseas, I couldn't stand the heat. Pictures swirled around in my head, little kids in those blow-up baby pools, teens dancing to the blaring radio, little kids running around playing tag, kids running through sprinklers.
"Bobby! Look out!" I heard a girl's voice shriek.
I turned around and I saw a water balloon coming towards me.
I closed my eyes my eyes waiting for the sticky, warm water to flood over me.
It burst on my chest but instead of the water I had expected, I felt cold, cool ice slide down my body. It was so refreshing.
A silence went throughout the neighborhood. The only sound that could be heard was the radio.
A boy pointed his finger at me, "F-f-freak!" He whispered.
Another shouted, "My dad told me about freaks like you! You're genetic mutations, you're-you're a mutant!!!"
Mothers were slowly leading their children away.
"FREAK!!!" My best friend Billy shouted.
~*End Flashback*~
I blinked back tears. Oh well, that was all in the past. At least I wasn't a freak here at Mutant High.
"What's wrong, sugah?" Rogue asked.
"Nothing, just thinking about my past." I forced a smiled.
Yep, an Iceman fit in just fine at Mutant High.
A/N What'd you think? Please review!!! Billy is such a jerk isn't he?
