Danny

Seven year old Danny Henshaw trudged into her room, perfectly miserable. Sometimes she just wished the daycare bullies would die. Rain pounded on her window and the wind howled. Danny thought it sounded very much like a lost, lonely, person crying out for help. If Bible School had taught her anything, Danny knew the right thing to do was pray for those who were lost, and even for the bullies. She should not hold a grudge, because God and Jesus did not like grudges. She pulled her long, brown curls into a messy ponytail before kneeling down in the middle of the room and folding her hands in prayer.

"Kind and merciful Lord, forgive me, for I have sinned. While those bullies do deserve justice, I would like you to not punish them too bad. As you forgave those who nailed you to the cross, I ask you to forgive those who hurt me and my friends. Please, Lord. Hear my prayer. Protect me from the violence in this world, guide the lost and lonely home, and serve justice out to those who deserve it. Amen." She whispered. The wind and rain seemed to have lessened and Danny smiled. "I love you, God. I love you, Jesus. Take care of your people."

Feeling a bit better, Danny headed downstairs and left all her problems behind. If Bible school had taught her anything, she knew God would answer her prayer in time.
